EarthLove is a box that is right up my alley and I was so grateful when I learned that EarthLove wanted to collaborate with us. Not only are they local to Abby and myself but, I love products that are good for the environment and give back to our planet. After all, we only have one planet to live on, and it’s important we take care of it. This review is based off their Autumn Box, as this is a quarterly subscription box.

I love all the inserts that were included in this box, I was able to learn more about the forest, environment, and being eco-friendly. Earthlove also gives back to the environment, which I found to be incredible and really empowering. A portion of the proceeds from each box is donated to a featured environmental non-profit working to converse and protect our fragile ecosystems.

I love how many details were given for each product too since admittedly I did not know a ton about them before I started using them and doing some research.

Anise & Wildcrafted Mugort Dark Chocolate Bar – Endorfin Foods

I am a huge sucker for chocolate (including dark chocolate) so I was pretty excited when I saw this in the box! The taste was really, really smooth which you don’t always get with dark chocolate. Part of me thought I tasted a hint of citrus in it, and then after looking at the ingredients I realized there was, in fact, some lemon balm in it, which added the perfect taste.  I am fortunate that I’m the only one in my household who likes dark chocolate, so I’m able to keep this all to myself. I also like that its dairy-free and no refined sugar. I am personally not dairy-free but, I have friends who are, and they’ve told me in the past that dairy-free chocolate isn’t always that great so now I have a new brand for them to check out. Oh, and I know I mentioned I was keeping this to myself but, I did give my daughter a piece of this yesterday and she loved it! I wasn’t expecting her to so I thought that was neat that she liked a healthier alternative to normal candy.

All-Purpose Salve – Mellow Root Herbals

This product contains sunflower oil infused with calendula, plantain and dandelion leaf, and beeswax. That’s it! I love that everything on this ingredient list is something I can pronounce and understand what it is. This is also a perfect product because we’re heading into the harsher weather time, so I have a product to use for the inevitable dry skin that also is good for my skin. I used this on my elbows and they felt so soft and smooth all day. One thing the packaging mentions is to not push too much out of the tube, and I agree with this. Otherwise, you, unfortunately, risk having too much product stick out and it can dry out. I also liked that the scent was really mellow so for anyone who is sensitive to overpowering scents, I recommend that you check this product out.

Highland Fling Tea – Cottage Botanicals

Now that we’re heading into the fall season, I’m looking forward to swapping out my iced tea for some warm and delicious hot tea. This product is the perfect timing for that! When I first opened the bag, it smelled so good and it reminded me of the upcoming fall weather. One of the ingredients in this product is rose petals, which I thought would be overwhelming to my taste buds, but, it wasn’t at all.  I learned by reading the packet that wild rose petals and heather are usually gathered during late summer and early fall which explains why this tea smells so fresh and Fall like. On the back of the product, there are also directions that give you timing and temperature guidelines for making the perfect brew. Since I typically do not make loose leaf tea, I appreciate this and thoroughly enjoyed drinking this.

“A Walk in the Woods” 5mL Essential Oil – Adirondack Aromatherapy

I went through a small phase where I had all different kinds of essential oils. I primarily only used them in a diffuser, except for peppermint oil, which occasionally I used in conjunction with medication when I had a bad migraine. Unfortunately, my diffuser broke! (Keep reading to see  how I used this below) This is not typically an essential oil I would normally purchase only because it’s a more overwhelming smell than I’m used to. It’s definitely very earthy and it goes hand in hand with the Fall theme. It reminds me of something I would expect to smell if I was out hiking or camping in the woods – hence the name! It took me a bit but, now I really do love the smell.

Diffuser Pendant Necklace – Bella TerraStudios

I didn’t realize until receiving this beautiful item, that you could even put essential oils on a pendant necklace. I followed the directions and put a small drop on the necklace, and then hung it up in my bathroom. Every time I walked into there, I could smell the aroma, and it immediately brought a smile to my face, as it reminded me of beautiful Fall weather. It was mentioned that the smell would last for days, and I can definitely attest to this being true. I added another drop yesterday, and I expect for this to last until Monday or Tuesday of next week. I am not sure if adding more oil to the necklace would make it last longer or not but, I didn’t want the smell to be too overpowering, so one drop was perfect.

Autumn Floral Smudgestick – Spirit Wild Farm

I won’t lie…I really wasn’t sure what to use this item for when I first began using all the items. The smell of the plants and flowers together was a  very lovely combination. I could smell the lavender, rose petals, and rosemary immediately. I am not a huge floral person so I was surprised that the smell was something I really enjoyed. A smudge stick is often used to cleanse negative energy in homes which isn’t something I’ve personally done much of but, I like being introduced to it.

Aromatherapy bomb – Total Essential Wellness

As you’ve seen from previous reviews, I’ve gotten to try out some really nice bath bombs. This one was no different. I loved the smell of it and it contained only natural herbal ingredients which I appreciate. I decided to use this as a shower steamer since I wasn’t sure how many other chances I would get to have a bath and it worked just as great.  I’m very tempted to buy a few more to have on hand for stressful days.

Beeswax Wraps (Set of two) – Mind Your Bees

This was by far my favorite item in the box. Not only was it really cool and interesting to read how something so simple can be environment-friendly, but, it really did work! I used this product to wrap up some leftovers the other night, and while I can only go off my limited experience, I really felt like it kept my food extremely fresh and tasty. The information packet mentions the user will notice a big difference in how long food keeps and I can agree with this. I am only disappointed that I hadn’t heard of something this great before. The other really interesting part is how you can use it for other things, not just keep your food fresh.

Sweet Strawberry Honey Suckle Mini Perfume – Live Beautifully

I wish I could explain to everyone just how good this smells. It reminds me a lot of a strawberry lemonade flavor, and the smell stays for longer than you would expect.  Something that sets this apart from other kinds of perfumes is it works with your body chemistry, so it may smell different on someone else verses you. Not to say that other perfumes don’t do this but, I can see how this product specifically does that since it contains no chemicals or unnatural ingredients.

Book of the Season – Kiss the Ground: How the Food You Eat Can Reverse Climate Change, Heal Your Body, & Ultimately Save the World by Josh Tickell

I think if I saw a book like this in the store I might be a little intrigued, but, I don’t know if I would have purchased it. Therefore, I’m really glad I received it in the box so I have something out of my normal books to read. Not to get on a soapbox or anything but, I don’t think people really understand how the combined actions of all of us really do affect this planet. I don’t want to debate climate change or global warming but, it’s things we need to heavily consider.  I haven’t finished the book yet but, I recommend giving it a look if this topic interests you.

Overall

This box was a huge hit for me. I not only received some incredible items but, it really opened to my mind on how I can personally help take care of our planet better. I really loved how everything stuck to the autumn theme and offered a nice variety of items. I did not include the price break down, but just look at all the items, this is well worth the money. Being in the Pacific Northwest, I’m pretty fortunate that I do live in a really beautiful place and this box makes me want to utilize that even more and spend some time outdoors.
