September 2020 Box

Self-care is such an important part of keeping my mental health in check.  And like everyone, 2020 has really put a strain on my typical self-care options.  While I would normally opt for a relaxing pedicure, I have needed to adjust to treating myself at home.  The Her-Mine box seems like a great way to help me take the time to look after myself.  And this box couldn’t have come at a better time.  Plus, I really liked that this box sources from female-owned businesses.  What a wonderful way to empower women!

September’s “Inner Goddess” theme was very well coordinated by the Her-Mine box.  The included mantra card and insert were a perfect touch when I opened the box.  The little sticker that said who packed my box was another excellent touch.  Thanks for the extra care Trudy!

Welcome Gift

There aren’t very many boxes that include a welcome gift when you subscribe, so I was shocked to see one in the Her-Mine box.  These handmade earrings and the included note were the perfect way to make me feel welcomed into their self-care sisterhood.  While I don’t have my ears pierced, I was able to appreciate the beautiful set.  Plus, I know just the person to gift them to.

Five Strand Stone and Gold Bracelet, Pretty Simple – Retail Value: $18.00

These elastic stack bracelets are the perfect way to add some flair to any outfit.  Although I’m not one to typically wear a lot of jewelry, these light pieces are ones that I could add into my daily style without feeling weighed down.  The added gold square beads add just enough shine to brighten my day too.

Goddess Bath Love Soak, InMyHeals – Retail Value: $16.99

Since this box is curated toward self-care, I expected to receive an item similar to this bath soak.  However, this particular product isn’t at all what I had in mind.  When I scooped out a sample I was quick to notice Rose Quartz crystals in the mix.  These crystals are meant to promote love from all directions while allowing for a full detox.  Between the crystals and the dried rose petals, I was starting to feel like royalty.  Also, how cool is it that they included a wooden spoon to use?  What a wonderful touch!  After setting an intention for my bath and then relaxing for a full 30 minutes, I feel like a brand new woman.

White Gardenia Bath Bomb, Paisley & Faith – Retail Value: $6.00

Fridays at my house mean it’s time for Friday Foot Soaks.  After I turn off my laptop for the day, I draw a shallow bath, add in a bath bomb and let my feet soak.  This ritual marks the end of a busy week and reminds me to take care of myself.  Sometimes my son joins me to soak his feet too, other times I sit in silence and think about my intentions for the coming weekend.  Either way, it is one of my favorite parts of the week.  This time around, my son wanted to join me, he was excited to see how the gold sparkles would look in the water.  This bath bomb smelt amazing, the gardenia was powerful, but not overwhelming.  One thing to note, it wasn’t well-formed and turned to powder as I unwrapped it.  We still added the powder to the water and enjoyed our soak.

Goddess Yoni Mist, InMyHeals – Retail Value: $4.80

I will admit that I thought this was a room spray and used it to refresh the rooms in my home.  It was only when I sat down to write this review that I realized I was dead wrong.  This Yoni Mist is meant to freshen up and neutralize your female bits during the day.  I can say that the smell is very soft, but has a nice relaxing scent.  The pump bottle worked beautifully and looks fancy in the bathroom.

Suede Mini Journal – Estimated Retail Value: $10.00

Like most people, I have picked up a few hobbies this year.  One has been trying to teach myself how to draw.  Typically my son and I will look up a tutorial for a random subject and then sketch it out on our own sheets of paper.  I have found drawings laying all over the house.  While the scraps of paper always make me smile, I have been thinking about getting a small journal to use so all my works stay together.  The blank pages in this mini journal are the perfect size for the small sketches that we tend to pick.  Also, the suede cover and wrap are adorable.  This was a perfect item to find in my box.

Venus Candle, Until the Very End Co – Estimated Retail Value: $4.50

Wood wick candles are my favorite.  It is hard to see in the picture below, but next to the wick is a Rose Quartz crystal which also tied in perfectly with the bath soak.  I didn’t find this scent on the Until The Very End website, however, it is listed in the Her-Mine insert as being a blend of sea mist, hibiscus, and violet.  The overall scent was on the mild side, which I enjoyed.

Overall

Based on retail prices alone, this box is definitely worth the monthly cost.  Not counting the welcome gift, the retail value was $10 more than the monthly price + shipping.  However, anyone that reads our blog knows that we don’t simply look at the cost analysis on subscription boxes.  The curation of this month’s Goddess theme was spot on.  There were plenty of items to use over the course of the month to make sure I’m keeping up with my self-care routine.  Each and every item had a luxurious feel to it and really made me feel spoiled.  The Her-Mine Box would make a great gift to give yourself if you are struggling to make time for yourself.  This box would also be perfect to gift to any woman in your life that likes to feel like a Goddess!

Next month’s theme is Falling For You.  Fall really is the best season, and I can’t wait to see what the Her-Mine box has in store for their subscribers.  Don’t miss out on the October Box!
