May’s Box is “…We’re celebrating two years of PLAY! By setting you up with beauty products that have earned our ooohs and ahhhs”.

This box was simply marvelous – and Sephora completely knocked it out of the park with all of these amazing products.

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara (Noir) – Marc Jacobs

Retail Value for full size: $26

I’ve used this mascara in the past and while it’s not my favorite, it’s a really good product. I was very pleased when I opened the box and saw it because Marc Jacobs is a well-known brand and is very reputable, so I think anyone who uses this mascara will be satisfied. It gives your lashes volume and can be used for an everyday look or for a more dramatic appearance. I don’t find my lashes clumping or looking like spider legs at all, which as we all known is not a great look!

Tattoo Liner in Trooper – Kat Von D

Retail Value for full size: $20.00

I found myself literally squealing with delight when I saw this product in my box! This eyeliner is my absolute ride or die liquid eyeliner, and I use it almost every day. If you want a nice, strong, or even a subtle liner look – this is your product! I will not recommend any other liquid eyeliner.  I firmly believe once you use it, you’ll never use another again. I’ve been known to convert a few of my friends/family members to this product, so I promise you all, I stand behind it.  It goes on so smooth and lasts all day without smudging or rubbing off. I’ve seen articles in Buzzfeed mention this product as foolproof – and I firmly agree.

Veil Mineral Primer – Hourglass

Retail Value for full size: $54.00

This was another product that I found myself squealing over. This is one of my favorite primers and I would use it every day if I could. The primer goes on so smoothly and your skin feels like velvet after you put it on. This may sound weird, but it’s so relaxing to put this primer on because of how smooth it feels as it’s been applied. Unfortunately I do not use this product any longer because of the price tag on it. It’s expensive, but if you can afford it I highly recommend this product.

Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying – Sephora

Retail Value for full size: $20.00

This product contains important minerals including zinc (soothes & purifies), copper (cleanses and conditions), and white clay (softens & enriches) making it a pretty good mask. For the price, I think this is definitely a good item.  Unfortunately, I don’t use masks often enough to be able to compare it to others.  I did like the way it left my skin feeling. Sometimes masks can leave my skin red and itchy, I was glad to see that did not happen this time. I plan to use it a second time and see if I have the same experience. Overall I was neutral on this product but, again only because I don’t have much to compare it to.

Supercream Coconut Curl Styler – Devacurl

Retail Value for full size: $28.00

I have curly/wavy hair and this is one of the only hair products I’ve found that can make my natural hair look pretty decent without overloading it with a million different things (gel, hairspray, etc.).  I also have super thick hair, so not having to use a gallon of product is typically unheard of for myself, and you don’t need to with this! My preference is to blow dry and straighten my hair (the rain in Seattle does not suit my hair type well), so I don’t really see myself using this much.  However from talking with others, I gather that it’s a good product. It’s also designed for curly/coiled/tightly coiled hair so it’s not an exact match for my hair type which is why I’ve never used it beyond samples I’ve received in the past.

Nomade Eau de Parfum – Chloe

Retail Value for full size: $75.00

I was very happy to receive this sample because it smells so beautiful. It’s a sweet/floral smell, but not overbearing nor too feminine. Due to the price, I’m not sure I’d purchase in the future, but I’m always a fan of trying new perfumes.

This by far is one of my favorite boxes I have ever gotten from Sephora. I honestly feel like this box was personally made for me – even though clearly it wasn’t but, it really does feel that way. There’s not a single product in here that I don’t see myself using (a few I won’t purchases full-size products but, I’m going to take advantage of my samples!) which is pretty rare I feel in beauty/makeup boxes. Sephora really did an amazing job picking these products out for their anniversary. I have nothing negative at all to say about this box, so I think anyone who received this would generally be pleased.  I also received my typical 50 Beauty Insider points so another bonus!
