This month’s theme of The Introverted Chick was one that was a bit near and dear to my heart as the theme was all about books!  Growing up, I loved reading and still do to this day. I love being able to mentally get “lost” in a book and get wrapped up in the story. For myself, I find that when life can be chaotic and stressful, a good book can usually cure me of some temporary anxiety and allow my mind to chill out for a bit.

Being an introvert definitely means I need “me time” so I struggle with that often as I’m a working mom and I have my household, husband, family, friends, etc. to also think about. I also personally struggle with working mom guilt which doesn’t help. Luckily, a good book is a nice way to take some time out of my day to relax and refocus on being alone since I can A) do it from home (I mean, duh, isn’t being at home the best?) and B) I can read my book after my kiddo falls asleep so I don’t have to worry about the logistics of leaving.

I loved the inserts that were included within the box. I find having a welcome message from the owner of the company is really amazing, and a breakdown of what to expect within your box. I also enjoyed the “Meet your Maker” portion that was also in the box! It’s nice to get to know a little more about the owner of one of the featured products.

Let’s dive into what was in February’s box!

Book Love by Debbie Tung

Of course, this wouldn’t be a complete box without a book. This book pictured above is titled “Book Love” by Debbie Tungand it is the ultimate book lover’s dream. While I don’t think I’m a huge bookworm any longer, I definitely found myself thinking “Wow, this is still me” as soon as I picked it up.  I also loved the autographed insert as I thought it added a nice and personal touch to the box.

Books to the Ceiling by Highland Bluff Studio, Homemade Soy Candle

I know this might sound a bit odd but, I actually love the smell of books. There’s something very comforting to me about the smell of books, especially older ones. I sometimes wonder if it’s because I used to tag along when my grandmother volunteered at her local library. I loved helping her check in books and putting them away since the smell would consume the room. I definitely loved how different this candle was, and I found the smell to be pretty true to what I’d expect to smell if I walked into a book store. Also, the creator of this candle is featured in the “Meet your Marker” section. I definitely plan to check out what other candles she has created.

Love & A Good Book Coaster

“All you need is love…all you need is love…love….” and a good book, right? I liked this coaster and plan to keep it downstairs so guests can use it when they visit. It’s very sturdy and I also think it would make a nice decoration for a bookshelf if you didn’t necessarily want to use it as a coaster.

Books Spines Necklace by Svaha

The Introvert Chick creator, Sarah, mentions she loves the brand Svaha, so I immediately went to their website to see what they were all about. They have some absolutely adorable stuff, so I can see why she loves them. I especially loved some of the other jewelry pieces they have, so I also recommend giving them a look at. I don’t really love to wear a lot of jewelry unfortunately but, thought that this was a perfect piece to include in this box. It also is a very nice quality necklace so it would make a nice gift for someone.

Novel Years by Bag Ladies Tea

These teas were absolutely the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! Even if I wasn’t a huge booker, I could see myself appreciating them, since they have tags on them from Modern Classics. I’m not a huge tea drinker these days but, since it’s been so cold in our area lately, it’s nice to have a hot cup of tea to sip on while curled up with a nice book.

Beaded Bookmark

These bookmarks were included in the box, but, the one in the center is hilarious in my opinion. The good news is, now I have a new bookmark, the bad news? Now I have Sir Mix-a-Lot song in my head….(I think you know which one).

Bookmark Pen & Sticky Note Matchbooks

Are these not the coolest things you’ve ever seen? Okay, I probably say that a lot but, I loved these little notepads. I have one in my purse right now, because I tend to be one of those people who like to write everything down so I remember, and I find myself jotting down little notes when I’m out and about. They can also be used for bookmarks in a pinch if you forget to grab one and you’re out and about. I also plan to use them for study notes, since I’m currently studying for a certificate I’m hoping to get this spring.

Comfy, Fleece Blanket

I constantly run cold so I loved that this blanket was included! Now I have a brand new cuddly blanket to use when I’m drinking my tea and catching up on my reading. I also like that it’s lightweight so it makes a perfect blanket to travel with.

Some extras were also included in the box which was cool!

Koozies

These are nice to keep around for parties or other events where there are cold beverages being served, so I was happy to see these. I especially love the B.Y.O.B(ooks).

Earbuds

I always love receiving a pair of these as I tend to lose mine often. Oops! Unfortunately, I can’t use these on my phone (where I stream all my music) but, I will keep them at work in case I ever need to plug them into my laptop or the speakers connected to my computer.

Bookmarks & Origami Bookmark Craft

I thought these were a really nice touch as well. I haven’t gotten a chance to construct them together but, I plan to do that on a rainy day that’s meant for reading. I love little things like this added to subscription boxes. It adds such a nice personal touch, and something extra the subscriber may not be expecting!

Overall Thoughts

This box was very well thought out and it really stuck to the theme of books, which I thought was great. I can tell that each product was very well thought out and not just thrown in because it had something to do with books. I’m glad that I was able to review this month’s box so I could have something to focus on and to treat myself with. I really do feel like this is the absolute perfect box for an introvert since we all know we do need time to refocus and recharge. What better way to do this than treat yourself with a new box each month dedicated solely for YOU time.
