Empress Mimi sent us over some gorgeous pieces to get our 2020 started off on the right foot. This subscription is always such a nice treat to see in the mail!
Empress Mimi offers 3 different tiers of subscription box options. These options include:

This subscription also makes for a great gift because the lingerie comes wrapped up in a nice box with ribbon and packaging so there’s no need to rewrap this yourself!
Exchanges are also very convenient and hassle-free. Each time you receive a box, Empress Mimi includes this card insert with instructions on how to make a return.
This month I was again, super excited because immediately upon opening I read the card insert and was intrigued by the description. The description alone made me know I would feel like a goddess in these pieces!
The first piece was called ‘Foxy Cleopatra’ and was inspired by none other than a strong woman who ruled her very own kingdom; Cleopatra.
On the insert, it mentions that we commonly associate red with love, and fire but, for a woman like Cleopatra, this color represents her power and glamour. I absolutely loved that and I really enjoy how Empress Mimi gives a backstory to the theme they pick. It shows that they curate the box to empower women to feel beautiful in these pieces.
I love the details of the red lace design along with the satin feel of this set. The hook in the back of the bra is extremely comfortable and is not the type to dig uncomfortably into your back. I also like how (at least in my opinion) while it’s pretty revealing, it also offers just enough fabric to hide the right areas to leave a bit of mystery for someone else. Kind of how Cleopatra may have left some mystery herself as a strong female leader.
As far as wearing this item goes, the straps were also super comfortable which is a big plus for me since I have had issues in the past with bras digging into my skin. The bottom piece fits very nicely and gave a high waisted look so I was able to feel confident about my curves.
We were also extremely fortunate to get this second piece. One again, it was stunning!
As beautiful as the first piece was, all of the beautiful design work on this piece really impresses me. The peacock feathers give such a wow factor and they are meticulously placed on the lingerie to really bring it together.
In the second picture shown above, you can see just what I mean about the design. It was really cute and very original. I also love how this piece was unique and different from others that I have received. I feel like Empress Mimi really goes out of their way to design different types of lingerie to make sure everyone finds a piece that complements and flatters their own body. The bottom piece of this set has adjustable satin straps that go above the hips to hug and accent them in a flattering way.
As much as I loved the first piece, this one really stuck to me. I felt very beautiful in it! It feels so luxurious to wear. I feel like I’m treating myself to something fancy when I wear this. The bottom and top both fit very nicely. I’m not an expert on fashion but, I really feel like a lot of people will enjoy an item like this one.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, Empress Mimi has truly won a spot in my heart. I love this subscription! As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve struggled with body image a lot in the past. I’m slowly working on becoming comfortable in my own skin. This subscription has really shown me that there are ways out there to feel and look beautiful, even if it’s not a conventional way. Empress Mimi creates all kinds of beautiful lingerie that can fit so many different types of body styles. I never thought I would enjoy trying on lingerie each time a box came our way but, I really do. It’s something to look forward to each month just for myself.
