Build Your Hair Profile
The first thing that I noticed don’t the Function of Beauty website is the Hair Quiz. Before deciding which products to review, I needed to answer some questions about my hair and my goals. The quiz only took me about two minutes to complete but was also very thorough. My favorite part was getting to choose the fragrance and color used on my products.
My profile and goals are displayed below on the insert that came in my box. While I wouldn’t say my hair is extremely unhealthy, I have noticed split ends and frizziness leading into Fall and I wanted to nip that before it got out of control. When I do wear my hair down, I straighten it, so being able to add thermal protection was a wonderful bonus. For the purpose of this review, I have used my personalized regimen for a full 30 days prior to writing my thoughts.
Product Quality & My Experience
My set arrived quickly and I was excited to start using it right away. The personalized bottles were a fabulous touch and drove home the point that these products were unique to me. And the included pumps would no doubt make my experience more enjoyable. The first thing I did though was to smell each item. I had chosen a peach scent and was excited to see just how peachy it would smell. FOB didn’t disappoint, the scent was perfection. After snapping some product pictures and a quick video for Tiktok, I was ready to start testing my new hair care routine.
Per instructions on my insert, I shampooed my hair twice and also let the conditioner sit on my hair for about 4 minutes each use. After each use, I was extremely happy with how my hair felt and smelled. My hair was left looking shiny, soft, and even a tad more straight than it was prior to using FOB. Yes, I have pretty straight hair, but little waves that like to peak out and make me reach for my flat iron. However, I noticed that I didn’t need to use my flat iron nearly as often while using these products. Another unexpected benefit to using this set was that my hair felt thicker with each use. Before starting my regime I had seen some negative reviews on FOB related to people losing their hair, but my experience was quite the opposite and I did feel like my hair had more body and volume.
Overall Opinion
It is hard to tell from the pictures, so if you want a better view, be sure to check out our TikTok to see before and after videos that show my results better. Overall, I would say that my hair felt much softer and looked a little more smooth after using Function of Beauty. However, my favorite thing about using my regime was the fact that I didn’t feel the need to use a flat iron every day. I know the benefit of not needing to use heat on my hair will pay off and help with the overall health of my hair. While my hair still has a bit of a frizz problem I do feel that FOB helped immensely the past 30 days. I plan to get a much-needed haircut and then continue to use this shampoo and conditioner set.
The one suggestion I have to for FOB is to list the directions for use on the bottle. While mine was listed on my insert, I would always seem to question myself while in the shower and applying the product. It would be helpful to have had the information right on the bottle for me to revert back to.
