As someone that has struggled with anxiety my whole life, I was intrigued by what the MindWander subscription box had to offer. MindWander is curated by Dr. Sarah, a therapist that has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and over 10 years of experience working with anxiety and depression.

The insert had a lot of details on the items in this months box.  I really liked that it described the ways that each item can aid in the subscriber’s journey.  This month’s theme couldn’t be a better match for me.  I love to be out in the wilderness during the summer and am at peace camping in the PNW woods for days at a time.  Another neat note, this box has a member-only Facebook group that subscribers can take advantage of to continue their quest.

Mini Workbook & Notepad – Retail Value: $10

This month’s focus is on building optimism and happiness and the workbook suggests setting aside 30 minutes a week for each session as well as 10 minutes a day to practice my homework.   At first, that amount of time seemed rather daunting.  One thing that I found extraordinarily helpful was that the workbook directed me to schedule the times that I would be working on my sessions and homework, I felt like once it was in my calendar I would be sure to complete it.  I started using all the included tools about one week ago so I’m not all the way through my journey, however, I have noticed a more positive mindset already.  This past week was especially challenging in my personal life, so these lessons couldn’t have come at a better time for me.

Challenge Card Pack – Retail Value: $5

Included in the box were 30 Happy Camper Challenge Cards.  I was directed to pull a random card each morning and complete the challenge by the end of the day.  Some seemed more unrealistic then others, however, the workbook ensures if I couldn’t complete it, then I could add it back to the stack for another day.  I liked that the challenges were related to the Happy Camper theme of the box since again I love to be outside.  See the below picture for examples of some of my daily challenges.

Ceramic Mug – Retail Value: $15

While this box is intended to be more of a therapy type box, I liked that they also included some amazing items that stuck to the theme as well.  The items all reminded me of what my focus was this month and helped me stay on track.  This was my favorite product included in the box.  I have been eyeing this style of mug for a while and love using it for my morning coffee.

Can Coolers – Retail Value: $10

As strange as it sounds these are the first can coolers I have ever owned!  I have always thought they are neat, but just ever put in the effort to buy any.  needless to say, I am loving this pair.  I actually just got back from a camping trip where these came in extremely handy.

Lotus Naturals, Face Mask – Retail Value: $10

I haven’t had the chance to use this mask yet.  As mentioned, it has been a crazy busy month.  However, I have this on my Self-care Sunday list for the upcoming week.  I can say that I am excited to try it, especially since it was handmade in Oregon.  Supporting small PNW businesses is something I’m always proud to do.

Hued Shoppe & Botanica, Shower Steamers – Retail Value: $7

I just started to get into shower steamers.  I typically don’t like to take baths and end up using bath bombs in a foot soak with my son instead.  So it is nice to get a product that I can enjoy in the mornings by myself.  I liked the scent of this one since it seemed to be very calming for me.

Lather Bar Soap Company, Handsoap – Retail Value: $7

I am in love with this soap.  Smore’s are such a nostalgic treat for me so this was the perfect item to find in this month’s box.  I had to research the fabulous company that created it.  Once I got to their website, I wasn’t disappointed. I could spend a whole paycheck filling my cart with their unique bath bombs, soaps, and scrubs!

Overall

MindWander is one of my new favorite boxes! The retail value of all items is over the price of the box.  However, that is nothing compared to the priceless experience of having a box to help me learn new ways to deal with my anxiety.  That experience combined with the high-quality products made for a real treat this month.  I’m looking forward to following MindWander in the future and seeing if all their boxes are this incredible.
