I’m someone who absolutely loves snacks. I associate snacking with all different kinds of activities and events in life. Going to the movies? Snack time. Going to a friend’s house? Heck yeah, I need a snack! An after-dinner treat? Hook me up with something sweet. And the list goes on, and on. That’s why I was so ecstatic when Munchie Case reached out to us and wanted to collaborate. I knew this box was perfect for not just myself, but, for Abby as well for when we got a case of the munchies.
I like that Munchie Case included this insert in the box of what to expect. The picture was designed really nicely and I liked how they used pictures instead of a written description.
Here’s what was inside:
Krave Gourmet Beef Cuts, Chili Lime – Retail Value $4.99
Who doesn’t like jerky? In my opinion, it is one of the most versatile treats on the planet. Easy to shove in my purse, easy to eat without making a mess, and can tide me over for hours when the going gets tough. I hadn’t tried the Krave line of jerky and was excited to see what they were all about. The jerky itself was exceptional. The chili lime flavor not so much. To me, the lime tasted almost artificial which was a huge turnoff. I asked my husband to try it too since chili lime is normally his jam. He also said it tasted fake to him .
Hi-Chew, Acai Flavor – Estimated Retail Value $1.00
I’ll admit it, I buy Hi-Chews in bulk at Costco. There I said it. I’m not sure why I love them, they are strangely appealing to me though. I hadn’t tried the Acai flavor but was definitely intrigued. These rang true to the Hi-Chew that I know and love. My favorite flavor before trying the Acai was Mango, but now I’m a true believer in this Acai flavor. I’m hoping Costco adds these to their mix so I can stock up.
LifeSavers Gummies, Wild Berries Flavor – Retail Value $2.69
Speaking of chewy candies that I love, Livesavers Gummies are another one of my favorites. These are a roadtrip staple for my household since everyone in my family loves them. With this being a “Share Size” I did what any other loving mother would do…I hoarded them at my desk and ate them all by myself. After all, when “Momma is happy, everyone is happy!” If you haven’t tried Livesavers Gummies, head to any store near you and pick some up, you won’t be disappointed!
Pringles, Pizza Flavor – Estimated Retail Value $1.00 (snack size below)
It is once said “once you pop, you just can’t stop”, and I can vouch for that. Since I didn’t share the Lifesavers I was feeling a bit guilty, so I did bring this treat home to share with my chip loving 4-year-old son. He had only tried the Sea Salt Pringles and I felt it necessary to expand his palette a bit. At first, he loved with this flavor but after about four chips he decided they weren’t his favorite. Don’t worry though, no Pringles were wasted in the writing of this review. I made sure every last bit was eaten to ensure a fair review. This is actually one of my favorite Pringle flavors, it tastes just like pizza.
Cocoa Krispies Treats M&M Minis – Estimated Retail Value $1.00
This was one of Noelle’s favorite items in the box. Rice Krispy treats are such a nostalgia item for me, and I love eating them during holiday times. I had never had this flavor before and needless to say it’s definitely a new favorite. I also really love M&M’s so I think that’s why it’s such a huge hit for me. I think I’ll allow myself to purchase this again in the future for a special treat.
Brookside Dark Chocolate, Acai & Blueberry Flavor – Retail Value $3.49
These are oddly addictive. I love blueberry but, truthfully haven’t ever been a huge fan of Acai berries (Fun game: ask your friends how to pronounce this word!). I really liked them though and I think it’s probably a very good thing this was only a 3oz bag because I think that I would have binged on these otherwise!
Clif Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter Flavor – Retail Value $1.00
I guess this is the part where I confess that I’m not a big fan of Clif Bars. I don’t know why but, I’ve just never really found a flavor I love. I do however occasionally eat the Kid’s Clif Bars that I buy for my daughter (maybe that’s the second part of this confession) but, this wasn’t a huge hit for me.
Calbee Harvest Snaps, Lentil Bean Tomato Basil Flavor – Retail Value $1.99
This snack was also was not a huge hit for me. I typically enjoy snacks like this but, the flavor was just not one I found myself enjoying. It’s hard to explain but, the lentil flavor threw me off I think. I will, however, give this another try since I think I need to remember it’s not going to taste the same as a chip or a pretzel. I’m interested in seeing how my daughter would like them as well.
Power Crunch, Red Velvet Flavor – Retail Value $1.67
I absolutely loved this protein bar! I tend to really love anything red velvet and this was no exception. It’s pretty hard to please me when it comes to protein bars, so I’m happy I found one that is pretty low in sugar and tastes good.
Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds – Retail Value $2.50
These are the best almonds ever. No seriously, they are. I love the smokey flavor of these and having it combined with all the salt, makes for an absolutely perfect snack in my opinion. I’ve been living on these a lot while I’ve been focusing on a lower carb diet. I feel like I get the crunch aspect of foods I’m often missing, while still staying on track. Plus, for the whole bag, it’s only 260 calories which aren’t bad at all.
Tate’s Tiny Thin Scrumptious Chocolate Chip Cookies – Retail Value $1.09
I’ve actually never heard of this snack before, and I’m wondering where it’s been all my life! I really loved the thin taste of the cookies, and how they were perfectly crisp. I’ve always loved chocolate chip cookies that are a bit on the “burnt” side (for lack of a better term) and don’t tend to like mine super gooey or soft. This is definitely a snack I plan to pick up or order online since the 1 oz bag was perfect to cure my sweet tooth without really going crazy on sweets.
Sour Patch Kids, Watermelon Flavor – Retail Value $.99
These are one of my favorite candies ever. They always give me nostalgia of going to the movies in high school, since my friends and I would always go to a CVS or A like store and load up on candy to smuggle into the theatre. The watermelon flavor has always been my go-to for Sour Patch Kids, so I was so delighted when I saw these. I tend to also think they aren’t quite as sour, so that’s probably why I like them a little bit more.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I was really impressed with this box. I thought the variety of snacks was really great and there was something that everyone could enjoy. It really did feel like Christmas morning opening this box since I had no idea what kinds of snacks to expect! I liked how there was a good mix of salty, savory, and sweetness so I had a lot of options to choose from, depending on how I felt that day. I also liked each item was packaged in the box really nicely and they weren’t just thrown in there. I always appreciate items being sent carefully, even if they are just snacks. I’m a true foodie, and I really believe anyone out there who gets the urge to snack as I do, would absolutely love this box delivered on their doorstep every month.
