Mediheal, Essential Face Mask – Retail Value $2.00
Since I try to use face masks weekly, this was a perfect item to find in the nomakenolife box. The option we got was the Placenta Revital Essential Mask, which is used to keep skin resilient, healthy, and radiant. Sheet masks are my favorite since they are easy to use and there is no mess to wipe off when the time is up. This mask was no exception. The holes all lined up well with my face and the mask laid down nice and smooth. My face felt a little bit cold at first, but more of a relaxing fresh chill. After 15 minutes, I took off the mask and softly rubbed the excess serum into my skin. My skin gave off a noticeably glow and felt amazingly soft even right after taking off the mask. I highly recommend this mask!
Mise en Scene, Steam Effect Hair Mask – Retail Value $3.74
“From the #1 hair care brand in Korea, this nourishing hair serum uses natural oils, heat, and steam to infuse your locks with rich, hydrating ingredients like shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and coconut oil.”
I have been reviewing boxes for three years, and I can say that I have never seen a product like this in any box that I have reviewed. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to give it a try. While I use hair masks weekly, I still notice that my ends get a bit dry during the winter months. This hair mask was a bit different than I am used to. I applied it to my damp hair and covered my head with the included cap for 15 minutes. There was a noticeable warming sensation which was great during a cold evening. After the time was up, I took the cap off and rinsed my hair. And bam, just like that my hair looked softer and shinier than it had in months!
BT21, Chimmy Hair Clip – Estimated Retail Value $8.00
These super cute hair clips are a great addition to this month’s box. I loved the flexible rubber that the decorative addition is made of, and the metal clip feels extremely durable. This isn’t a product that I could find online, so I listed an estimated retail value of $8. However, these are a unique item that features a K-Pop character which adds even more value to this box.
Innisfree, Matte Mineral Setting Powder – Retail Value $8.00
I have been searching for an amazing setting powder for about a year now. And this product from Innisfree did just what I was hoping for. It set my foundation so well that it actually looked like I had a filter on my face. The soft application pad felt so smooth too. I am in love with this setting powder.
“The beauty item every Korean woman swears by! This super soft setting powder created by Innisfree is made from Jeju Island natural minerals and mint. It locks everything in place and leaves your skin looking smooth and airbrushed. How to Use: Lightly apply over your foundation or wherever you want to keep shine at-bay!”
UR Glam, Clear Yellow Lip Oil – Retail Value $3.74
Personally, I don’t care for lipstick and I tend to use either chapstick or lipgloss. This product is a combination of the two items and was another perfect product to find in the nomakenolife box. The name of the shade, clear yellow, was a bit off-putting. However, on my lips, it just looked like a clear gloss. I liked that the shine stayed around for a few hours and didn’t leave my lips feeling sticky.
Fascy, Moisture Bomb Hand Cream – Estimated Retail Value $5.00
My dry winter hands needed so extra hydration this month, so I was happy to test this product out. This small lotion packed a huge moisture punch! My hands felt incredibly soft after using just a small amount of this wonderful lotion. My box contained the Violet scent, which had hints of floral notes. Personally, I would have preferred the strawberry or peach version. But, now that I know what an amazing lotion this is, I can easily purchase the scent that I will love.
“This popular Korean hand cream from Fascy lives up to its name with deep moisturizing power. It contains shea butter and aloe vera extract which soothe and brighten dull dry skin. Comes in one of 5 scents: strawberry, violet, grapefruit, peach, and milk.”
UR GLAM, Eyeshadow Palette– Retail Value $5.21
The shades in this palette could be perfect for both casual and dramatic makeup looks. I am a huge fan of browns and gold since they normally look good with my eye color and seem easy to work with. Although I loved the colors in this palette, the pigment seemed a bit blotchy to me. I had to spend a lot of time blending and building on each color. In the end, I got a look that I was proud of but I’m not sure the extra work was worth it.
Microfiber Hair Drying Glove – Estimated Retail Value $6.00
Since I have been staying at home for the better part of a year, I have been able to skip blow-drying my hair a lot. Therefore, I tried these gloves on damp hair without a blowdryer. After a quick towel dry, I just combed through my fair with my gloved fingers to help speed up the drying process a little bit. It did seem to help dry my hair a little faster, but it also left my hair looking a bit more smooth than when I air dry it. This isn’t a product I would normally buy for myself, but it was a fun product to try none the less.
Overall Thoughts
The retail value of products in this box are just a little higher than a subscriber would pay for the monthly fee (and shipping). However, the price isn’t what stood out to me. I wouldn’t have ever known to look for these products on my own. If I tried to curate a selection this good for myself, I would easily be throwing out money trying random products until I found some that I really loved. The beauty of the nomakenolife is in the fact that they are able to find amazing products that subscribers will fall in love with each and every month. The experience of discovering new products to add to my routine is the reason I love subscription boxes and nomakenolife brought some really great products to my attention this month!
