This month we are extremely excited to be reviewing the dog portion of NomNomNow!

Our special volunteer, KC, graciously accepted the challenge of an honest review.

KC is a 70-pound yellow lab, and we were sent the Beef option by NomNomNow. Since KC has some dietary restrictions, this was the best option for her. Also, while KC isn’t really overweight, we did indicate she should be at a little bit of a lower weight, so this information was used to determine how much food to send. I love that this is an option when filling out your customer profile for your pet to guarantee they aren’t overeating and getting precisely what they need.

NomNomNow sends all the instructions needed to begin your pet’s new food regimen. For KC, it was determined to give her one of the smaller portioned packets, and continue to mix it in with her food as a transition period, since she had never had this food before.

We were also sent a bunch of other great items that NomNomNow offers. If you recall from the previous review, NomNomNow offers jerky that only contains one ingredient. KC received both the beef and the chicken options.

These jerky treats are items you can feel good about feeding your pet. KC definitely loved both of them. I think the decision between them was just too hard so let’s call it a tie!

We were also sent some of these flavor flakes for KC to try. While KC isn’t a picky eater, these are perfect for the pets out there that are. Think about it, we humans are sometimes hesitant to try new foods. We can’t expect our furry companions to not be the same occasionally. Also, my cat Asher, when he first received the food was very nervous to try it. It’s not that he did not like it but, when something suddenly changed I know I can get kind of frazzled, so can you blame animals for also being apprehensive?

The last item before I discuss the food that was sent to us was these probiotics.

These are meant to support the GI tract for pets, similar to probiotics that we as humans take. So far they seem to be doing good things for KC!

As I mentioned above, we were sent the Heartland Beef Mash for KC to try out. Since KC cannot eat grains, this was the best option for her.

Now, obviously to humans, this doesn’t look incredibly appetizing but, KC was more than ready to dig in once she saw me grab her bowl and fill it with some dinner. I also added a scoop of probiotics to her food, as seen below.

Being this patient isn’t so easy. She looks pretty cute though!

Luckily it was time to eat after I snapped this photo above. KC dug right into it a was one happy girl.

She’s been fed the food and probiotics now since we received the food earlier this month, and I can tell KC has been looking forward to eating in the morning, and in the evening. Plus, you can’t deny it feels good to feed your pet healthy and fresh ingredients. With all the random pet foods that have consumer recalls on them these days, it feels good to provide my pets with food that has fresh ingredients.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I am just as impressed with the contents of this box as I was with the cat version I reviewed a few months ago. Everything was neatly packed within the box and was kept at the perfect temperature to keep the food frozen until it got to my house. One thing I want to mention is that the food actually looks fresh, which is very important in my opinion. I’ve seen some grocery brand dog foods claim it’s “fresh” but, I honestly don’t know how well I can agree with that. Now, I don’t know if KC will give me a clear answer on if it tastes fresh but, I can tell you there are no complaints from her!  NomNomNow doesn’t cut any corners when it comes to delivering quality to our pets. I also love how they offer products in addition to the food to help your pet’s digestion and have healthy treats to give to them. It’s so nice to have a variety of things to look forward to!

Try NomNomNow and start feeding your best friend some delicious food!
