Coco Polo 70% Dark Chocolate Quinoa Bar – Retail Value: $5.50
Growing up, I loved the crispy chocolate bars that I would get during Halloween. As an adult, I realized they aren’t as good as my childhood memories had led me to believe. Nevertheless, I was excited to try this sugar-free take on those crispy bars. The crisp in this chocolate comes from quinoa, which is interesting to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the first bite, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is the grown-up, guilt-free version of the Halloween treat from my adolescence.
Tru Chocolate Dark Chocolate Covered Almond – Retail Value:$1.50
There are many chocolate covered almonds on the market that I really enjoy. Most have a bit more sugar and or carbs that I’m willing to eat though. I’m always excited to try a new low sugar option on this deliciously filling snack. The Tru Chocolate version has no sugar which is pretty incredible. The taste was very good; it’s sweetened with xylitol which is my favorite sweetener. The almonds themselves tasted a bit moister than I would like. I wish they had a little more crunch to them.
Kiss My Keto Chocolate Coconut Ketogenic Bar – Retail Value: $3.33
Ever since the November 2018 Sleek Treat box, I have been a huge fan of the Kiss My Keto bars. The cookie dough once is amazing so I stuck with that over the past few months. Needless to say, I was uber stoked to try another flavor. This month my bar came melted, so I threw it in the fridge for a few hours before consuming it. While the melt didn’t hurt the flavor, but maybe hurt the photogenic appearance a bit. The coconut bar is every bit as good as the cookie dough. Believe me, these are the best low carb bars that I have ever tasted. I buy them in bulk monthly.
Tru Chocolate Solid Dark Chocolate Bites – Retail Value: $1.20
Our box came with two of these bite-sized chocolates. It is a wonder how they can make chocolate taste this good without adding sugar to it. It really blows my mind. I love that they are small enough to eat quickly while I hide from my son. I’m joking of course, but in all seriousness, I won’t be sharing the other one. I will want the other bite on hand for the next time sugar cravings strike.
Skinny Me Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Truffle – Retail Value: $1.33
Noelle had the chance to try this brand in a previous Sleek Treat box and she was enamored with them. This was my first go around and I am right there with her. I was so close to reaching into the office candy bowl when I remembered I had this to taste test still. Boy, am I glad Sleek Treat has me covered. The truffle was small, but dense and zapped my sugar craving for the rest of the day! I love sea salt flavored candy, so this flavor was perfect for me!
Intakt Snacks Crunchy Cheese Lovers Original – Retail Value: $3.10
I know the theme this month was “Chocolate Dream”, however, I still like to receive at least one savory item. I have tried these before and really liked them so was happy to have another bag handy at my desk. If you haven’t tried these before, they taste just like you would expect…baked cheese. Salty, crispy, and filling. Although, I will mention I always notice a mild aftertaste, which I think is the corn starch that is used.
Project 7 Cotton Candy Gourmet Gum – Retail Value: $1.40
I was just thinking the other day that I needed to find a yummy gum to help get through the day. And then this showed up in my box. Coincidence? Maybe, or maybe Sleek Treat just knows me that well! I admire the Project 7 brand’s mission, so I always enjoy getting their products in subscription boxes. Considering cotton candy is such a sweet splurge, I was overjoyed to try guilt-free gum with that flavor. My only complaint about them would be that the flavor doesn’t last very long, so that is a tad disappointing.
Dr. John’s Candies Sunkissed Fruits Tooth Lollipops – Retail Value: $0.90
Candy sweetened with xylitol is my favorite sugar-free candy. It tastes just like sugar, without the blood sugar spikes and is also good for your teeth. In fact, there hasn’t been one candy that I’ve tried with xylitol that I didn’t like. So I knew I would love these. I tried the yellow one, which I think was mango and it was heaven! I ended up giving one to Noelle to enjoy and one to my son too. For the price of 30 cents each, I will be sure to stock up on these lollipops!
Overall
Sleek Treat is one of my favorite boxes to get. Yes, my opinion could be swayed by the fact that I follow a low carb/low sugar diet and I love getting snacks in the mail. However, my personal favorite thing about this box is the fact that I now have a whole repertoire of snacks that I can bulk order to keep at the office, at home, and in my car to ensure I stick to my goals. It is easy to subscribe and let the snacks come to you each month, which is also a nice little push to keep going. I know with Sleek Treat I will get a box full of snacks that taste good. How do I know that? Because they personally taste test products before they use them in their subscription box. I have someone that can point me in the right direction month after month! How cool is that?
