I love giving gifts to people, but sometimes I struggle with what to gift to them?  So when the Gifter Box reached out to us to review their NEW subscription box, I was interested.  Having small gifts delivered monthly that I can use for upcoming holidays or events is perfect.  Especially during this time in our lives, I thought being able to drop off a magical “I’m thinking of you” gift to a friend would really brighten their day.  It probably doesn’t need to be said, but you can also keep some of the items for yourself, which is fun too.  Also included in the box was a gift bag, which made it easy for me to make up a quick present for someone special.

The Grass is Greenest Where I Am – Retail Value: $18

I am always happy to get a new book to read, and this one seems like it would be perfect for me to read during the quarantine.  I am only one chapter in so far, but I can’t say that I’m in love with the book.  The overall message is one that is very inspiring, we will see how I feel after a few more chapters.  The reviews on Amazon are great, so I’m excited to read more and really do some soul searching while I read along.

Bobby Pins, All up in the Hair – Retail Value: $5

Typically I am pretty boring with my hair and either just wear it with a side part or up in a messy bun.  However, since being locked in the house the past few months, I have been trying new styles out.  These cute bobby pins are just the thing I needed to try another new look.  I decided I would keep these for myself.

Roll-on Perfume, Mix-o-logie – Retail Value: $9

My first thought when opening this perfume was DANG this is a small bottle.  But then I remembered something.  I have been wanting to get a small bottle to add to my purse and this was the perfect one.  Roller bottles are so nice to use to freshen up after a long day of work.  The scent is mild, yet refreshing and I’m excited to use it, this is another item I kept for myself.

Steam Facial, Seattle Seed Co – Retail Value: $14.95

Being from the Seattle area, I was ecstatic to see a local company featured in the box!  The beautiful herbal blend will make a wonderful at-home steam facial.  While I think this was the best item in the box, I decided to add it to the gift bag from my friend.  However, I may end up buying one of these bottles for myself in the future, because it looks and smells amazing.

Bath Bomb, Fizz Bizz – Retail Value: $6

I love love love bath bombs, however, recently moved to a new home which is on septic.  We are trying to be very cautious with what goes down the drain, so I promised my husband I would stop using bath bombs.  The cupcake scent of this one almost made me break my promise.  It smells like heaven.  Instead of going back on my word, I did the next best thing and added it to the gift bag for one of my best friends to enjoy.

Morning Matcha, Yourlixir – Retail Value: $10

I will admit, these packets looked like something I wasn’t interested in trying.  That being said, I opened one in the morning and tried it with some milk and it was actually pretty tasty.  I can’t say that I noticed an improvement with my focus or gut health based on the one time use.  However, it was a nice change from my morning coffee. I have saved the other packet to make a face mask on Mother’s Day.

Teas, Cup of Life – Estimated Retail Value: $4

How cute are these tea pyramids?  They look so fancy, so of course, they will make the perfect little addition to any gift.  I couldn’t find this product for sale, so the price above is an estimate based on similar ones that I found online.  Once I’m back in the office, I know the perfect person to gift these both two.

Cherry Blossom Elixir, Drink your Flowers – Retail Value: $8

In all my years of reviewing subscription boxes, this is the first time I have received a product like this.  And I am super excited to give this elixir a try.  With Spring in full bloom here in the PNW, this will add the perfect flavor to a mixed drink.  My only problem now is getting to the store to buy some soda water and vodka.  I’m thinking I will enjoy this on Mother’s Day while I lounge around outside.

Lollipops, Popette of Pendulum – Retail Value: $4.80

If you have kids, you know exactly who these lollipops were gifted to.  My son was more than happy to take both of them off my hands.  He was kind enough to share a taste of the vanilla cupcake flavor with me and I can tell you that it was as delicious as it was pretty.  I love how beautifully designed these lollipops are.  While looking around the Poppette of Pendulum website I saw a few items that I want to buy in the future for gifts.  The grown-up look and delectable taste will make the perfect items to add to gifts in the future.

Greeting Cards, Cynla Cindy LaColla – Retail Value: $9.50

A gift box wouldn’t be complete without some greeting cards inside.  The Gifter Box is sure to add cards for upcoming holidays and events, and this month focused on Graduation and Mother’s Day.  While I personally don’t know anyone graduating, I tucked the card away for future use.  However, the Mother’s Day card was perfect to add with the gifts I brought my friend.  I really liked that the card could be used for any Mom out there and wasn’t too specific where I could only use it for my mom.

Life is Beautiful Card, Jagged Touch Studio – Estimated Retail Value: $6

This is a large card and one that I actually will most likely frame and give as a gift.  The artwork is beautiful and has a lot of depth to it that can be appreciated more hanging on a wall.  The artist’s website didn’t seem to have this specific card for sale, so I estimated the price.

Overall

My favorite thing about The Gifter Box is the fact that the products where sourced from small businesses.  I really love to support small and local businesses and this box did just that.  The items were all unique and ones that even after years of reviewing subscription boxes were still new to me.  Being a gifter at heart, this box is excellent for me.  Having a box sent to me with small items that I can gift is a win-win.  The greeting cards are so intuitive too, as they cover upcoming holidays that the subscriber may need a card for.  The overall value of this box is way over the monthly cost, which makes this box that much sweeter.  Being that this is the first month from The Gifter Box, I am excited to see what next month holds for their subscribers!
