I have been an introvert my whole life, although I didn’t really understand what that meant until my mid-twenties. I’m the type of person that can be labeled an “extroverted introvert” I can hang at parties and with large groups, however after a certain amount of time in those situations I need to step back and be alone to recharge. It is a hard thing to explain to most of my friends, but it is a feeling of being drained. It isn’t that I don’t like to be around people, but my mind craves the quiet moments of self-reflection. When Sarah, the “chick in charge” over at The Introverted Chick subscription box reached out asking us to review her new box, I almost feel out of my chair. How did I not know this subscription box was about to launch?
The first thing in the box was a mini-magazine, which included a letter from the founder of the box, a list of products featured in this month’s box, a little more information on three of the companies that are featured, and then a guide for surviving the “holidaze”. All the information was really nice to have, I like to know which companies are contributing to the boxes that I subscribe to.
Introvert Mug
Designed by the founder of The Introverted Chick subscription box, this mug is perfect for my morning coffee or afternoon tea. I love a good quality mug and I can tell this one is made to last. I love the having a mug that basically tells people to leave me alone without being too rude.
DIY Banner
I love that this is a create your own banner. My thoughts ran wild with creative banners I could make with this. See the pictures below to see my favorite creation. I love the bright colors on this banner. It is also really easy to assemble. This will be an item I use several times, for real parties and just funny sayings. As you can see, we’ve already put it to good use, as any good introvert would. Please take this hint to heart if you ever come to my house. (Kidding – maybe).
Velvet Pouch
This is the perfect pouch to keep what I plan to call my new “Introvert Emergency Kit”, which will consist of earbuds, tea, and an essential oil roller. I love the velvet exterior, it is so soft I couldn’t stop running my fingers up and down it. The quality was also really nice, and I know that I’ll get a lot of good use out of it. Note, the second picture is from Noelle’s box – so we both ended up getting a different one!
“Nope, Not Today” magnet
Inside the velvet pouch was this adorable magnet. This is one saying I find myself repeating on crazy days at the office. I actually placed this in my cube where only I can see it, just to remind myself to not let the workday wrap me up too tight. It makes me chuckle when things aren’t going the way I want them too. At least enough to lighten the mood.
“Go Away, I’m Introverting” Socks
Remember when you were a kid and got socks for Christmas, and it strangely felt like it was as if someone punched you in the stomach with disappointment? Yeah, I don’t have that same memory. I actually have always loved to get socks, especially unique ones that make me giggle. These socks are on the thin side so nothing that will keep me too cozy, but that is what a blanket is for! The colors are super cute, just my style, and the saying and artwork are purrrfect (see what I did there?).
Tea Drops
I have never heard of Tea Drops before this box. Not only that, I shared some of these with a few friends to see if they had heard of them and no one had. What I want to know is where has this product been all my life. These delicious tea drops are so cute! They are even already sweetened with cane sugar. Just drop them in some boiling water, stir, and enjoy. I plan on ordering more of these, in at least two other flavors. Also thinking these would have been amazing stocking stuffers, so am making a reminder for myself to add these to my shopping list for next Christmas.
R.I.P. Card by Sapling Press
I’ll admit, I am a plan canceler on occasion. I don’t mean to be, however, I tend to make more plans when full on extrovert mode than I can handle when my dominate introvert side takes over. Either way, this card made me giggle. I will use this card to make a fellow introvert laugh out loud.
Fun Extras
I love these extras items that Sarah included in the debut box. The pocket calendar and pen is perfect for my desk. The door hangers are beautiful and I loved that they are double sided. I gave one to one of my introvert friends and she thought it was pretty amazing too. The “Get out of one social obligation free” cards were cute and made me smile, although I know I wouldn’t actually pass them out. Darn introvert personality making me not want to make anything awkward! All of the extras were great quality and I can tell a lot of time was spent designing them to be perfect for this subscription box.
Early Access Extras
Our box included the extra gifts that Early Access members received. The necklace can even be purchased separately here. I was excited to get another magnet since I loved the first one so much. Also, I thought it was really neat that The Introverted Chick included extras for subscribers that were there since the beginning.
Overall Thoughts
This box gets me. Not in a weird, like they are listening to me through my Alexa, but in a way that only another full-on introvert could get me. I loved that every item was not only something I could picture myself using, they were also incredibly well-made products. Only the highest quality items made their way into this box and it shows in a big way. The amount of work that went into curating this debut box definitely showcases through each product, since like I previously mentioned, they are all very nice quality. The products also all tied into each other and made it feel very cohesive and easy to understand for us introverts. I can’t wait to watch where this subscription box heads for their second box and for the future!
