January is a month for reflection and increased self-awareness for many people. So it was incredibly fitting that this month’s box theme was “What’s Your 2020 Vision”. This box had us pondering what our vision is for the next decade.
Notebook Set – Retail Value: $11.95
I am a list person. Without a list, I would be dropping balls left and right. So, of course, notebooks are always handy. I really loved the colors on this purse-sized notebooks too. Personally, the quotes on them are not something I would pick out, however, I can see how they tie into this month’s theme. Each one contains 80 pages, one lined with tear-away pages and one unlined. They both seem well made and should withstand my 2020 wear and tear.
Chill Pill, Bath Fizzies – Retail Value: $10.01
Of course, every introvert knows that after a long, busy week there is nothing better than taking a nice warm bath. Adding a fun bath fizzy makes it even better too. I love that this set is actually two bath bombs in one since that will extend the use a bit too.
Compendium, Wooden Sign – Retail Value: $8.97
Small wood signs are a great way to decorate pretty much anywhere in your home or office. The colors of this “What If” sign perfectly match The Introverted Chick’s theme flawlessly. It serves as a great reminder to take the leap when you might otherwise be doubting yourself.
Various Office Supplies – Estimated Retail Value: $5.99
It is always nice to have extra office supplies on hand so these were a nice item for this month’s box. I also like how they tied in the flags and highlighter in with the theme. How perfect will flags and a highlighter be when I’m reading the JOMO book?
JOMO, Celebrate the Joy of Missing Out – Retail Value: $14.99
I love having new books to read, especially this time of year. This hardback is full of ideas to help the reader “celebrate the joy of missing out!” While some of the ideas seemed pretty obvious, there were others that I thought were something I would like to try in the future. Personally, I can see myself jotting down my favorite 20 ideas in one of the journals and then letting a friend borrow the book to look for ideas too.
Kikkerland, Weekly Dry Erase Board – Retail Value: $4.00
In order for me to achieve goals, I need to write down small daily tasks. So this magnetic weekly planner will be well-loved in my house. I love that there is a clip for the marker too so that doesn’t end up getting lost.
Veggie Straws – Retail Value: $0.84
I will be honest here, I had never actually tried Veggie Straws before now. They are never something that looked super appealing to me so I always passed them up at the grocery store. I shared this bag with my son and husband to see what we all thought about adding this snack to our pantry. To my surprise, we all three loved them and already added them to our next shopping list.
Cookies United, Ultimate Party Cake – Retail Value: $2.49
Who doesn’t want to get cake in their subscription box?!? I was stoked to be able to try these mini birthday cake slices. I have to say, these cake bites are a little slice of heaven. I will be buying these in the future. What a fun little gift to add to anyone and everyone’s birthday present! Also, notice how the colors coordinate with The Introverted Chick’s logo too.
Overall
It is important to us that we are always 100% honest with our feelings on the boxes that we review. The whole point of starting our blog was to share our honest opinions. That being said, while I was unboxing the items this month, I wasn’t super impressed as an initial reaction. I didn’t really get excited about the products and wasn’t sure what to say about them. However, once I sat down and read the insert and took the time to write about each item…I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. While none of the items wowed me as an individual item, as a whole the box did have a very cohesive feel. Plus the overall value is well over the monthly cost of the box, so really this month was a win for the subscribers of The Introverted Chick. What are your thoughts on this month’s box?
