Background
I have suffered from thinning hair basically my whole life. As I’m getting older, it has only gotten worse. To be honest, I’ve been at a point in the past few years where I’m starting to get downright concerned about going bald. So when I got the chance to review a product that could not only stop the thinning but also possibly reverse the signs of aging, I immediately jumped on it. I was sent the Scalp BB Detoxifying Treatment with charcoal and black mud from Therapy-G in exchange for this review. I have tested this product for one week, which included using it five times. The below opinions are 100% my own.
My Experience
The first thing I always do with hair products is to see if I like the scent. I don’t want something in my hair that doesn’t smell at least somewhat decent. This treatment didn’t have an overwhelming scent one way or another so it passed my first “test”. The instructions were very easy, apply after shampooing, massage into scalp for one minute and then leave on for between 5-15 minutes. The first time using this product, I felt a slight tingly sensation on my scalp, however, it went away after I rinsed it out. My hair felt fuller even after the first use. Now I know I wouldn’t be able to tell a difference in thinning the first five uses, but I can say that my hair shafts do feel healthier and more full already. I noticed my hair is a lot more shiny and silky now too, which was a side benefit that I wasn’t expecting. I’m excited to keep using this treatment and see the end results. I’m also very tempted to buy the whole system that is offered through Therapy-G.
Overall
I really like the way my hair feels after using this product. As mentioned above, I don’t think realistically there is a way to see a huge difference in only one week. However, the fact that my hair now feels and looks fuller and shiner is enough to make me love using this product. The only downfall for me is the price. I would probably go through a tube in about one month and can’t see myself paying $50 every month for the treatment. However, there is also an option to only use it weekly and still reap the benefits of the product. If I continue to use this, I will likely go this route to make sure I stay within my budget. I am also very interested in trying the system as a whole (the product line also has a shampoo, follicle stimulator, and conditioner along with the volumizing treatment ) and seeing what my hair looks like after about 90 days.
