I reviewed the #Tribebox back in September 2018 so already kind of knew what to expect with their subscription box. Their main focus is curating a box that showcases small woman-owned businesses. Today there is such a struggle to get the word out on smaller businesses, even with all of the connections we have on social media it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. I like that #Tribebox is helping to change that and was excited to see what would be in their Fall 2019 box!
I like that they include information on the makers of items in the box since it can be tough to find small businesses online. I like to read about each business and see who the box is helping. Putting a picture to the name is also helpful for me. Since the last time I reviewed their box, they have added some new “service-based sponsers” that included information on their businesses. See the photo gallery below for close-ups of all inserts.
Water Bottle with Decal – Saved by Grace & Co, Estimated Retail Value: $17.99
I absolutely love this True Water Bottle. Besides coffee, water is the only thing that I drink. And since cutting down my plastic use is so important to me, I rely on this type of reusable bottle to get through my daily grind. The added sticker is from Saved By Grace & Co. The sticker itself is very cute, although it felt like it was a bit too thick to be added on too the waterbottle. Personally, I would have liked to have it separate with a suggestion of adding it to the bottle. As I don’t consider myself a religious person, I decided to actually gift this to my sister in law. I know she will enjoy it.
Washcloth, Oh, Helen Boutique – Estimated Retail Value: $3.99
I think this was one of my favorite items in the box. Yes, it is “only” a washcloth but the design and quality are amazing. The material is so soft and the color fits perfectly with what I already have. This was a perfect addition to the #tribebox.
Highlighter and Bronzer Serum Samples, URB Apothecary, Retail Value: $10.00
The insert listed these samples as coming from URB Apothecary’s plant-centered botanical line, which immediately caught my attention. While I’m not into makeup generally, I have been toying with highlighters lately so I was excited to try these out. I really liked the way the highlighter worked. I see that the full-sized serums come in a rollerball which would have been extremely helpful for application.
Activated Charcoal Facial Bar, Just Dandy – Retail Value: $9.00
Now, this is a product I can really get behind. Starting in the fall time, my skin starts to get over dry from the weather change and my normal face routine needs to be tweaked. I like this charcoal bar since it doesn’t dry my skin out and it still helps with my mild acne issues. Just Dandy is a wonderful small business in Minnesota that I’m happy to support. Their goal for 2019 is to reduce their use of plastic use, and that to me is a huge thing! Great work Just Dandy!
Berry Bliss Lip Balm, Benica’s – Retail Value: $5.00
This all-natural lip balm is something to rave about. I love the larger sized container since it doesn’t get lost in my purse as easy. Also, the scent is heavenly. Benica’s offers a variety of other all-natural and handmade products that look great as well. Including lip balm in a Fall box is always perfect.
Napkins, Cakewalk – Retail Value: $3.95
Although I felt this item was a little out of place in the box, I still appreciated getting them. You never know when you will want to break out some cute napkins like this. And the saying on them makes them easy to use for practically any celebration.
Flowering Green Tea, Pinky Up – Estimated Retail Value: $4.99
What a great addition to the Fall box. What could be more fall than a Candied Apple flavored tea? Talk about keeping all the subscribers warm and cozy this season! The blooms can be re-steeped 2-3 times, which is pretty neat! I couldn’t find a package with only 2 blooms available for sale, so the retail value is estimated.
Top 5 Sticky Notepad, Kendra, Inc – Estimated Retail Value: $2.99
I will forever be a list maker. In fact, without a daily list, I would feel incomplete. So getting a sticky pad where I can list my daily goals is perfect for me. Something so small, yet oh so powerful!
Overall
The #tribebox has been on my favorite box list for some time now. Not only do they send top-notch products, but I feel good knowing that I’m supporting other woman-owned businesses. Plus, I personally favor quarterly boxes since it isn’t as overwhelming as getting monthly boxes. The overall value of the box is above the sale price, which is always a plus. For me, this wasn’t my favorite box that they have curated, but I still loved the items that were included. Also, one thing to note is that there was a candle listed on the insert which wasn’t in our box. We did reach out to the company and it was an oversight, however, subscribers can still expect to get it.
