2.5 years ago, I decided I needed to make a huge change in my life. After having my daughter, I, unfortunately, dealt with some tough postpartum mental health issues and did not make myself a priority. I was lazy, unmotivated, and depressed. One day I decided enough was enough though. I signed up with one of my friends at a local Cyclebar studio and found a passion for spin cycling, and it’s been a big part of my routine and life ever since. Your Pace Case quickly peeked my interested as soon as we were given the opportunity to review it! Even though this does seem like it might be geared more towards running, I easily tailored this to my own fitness goals. I do like running occasionally so if anything, this has also sparked my interest to get back into that!
This month’s theme was May Flowers Challenge. I loved the “Tip of the Month”, and how one of the items tied into the theme. When it comes to boxes, having a cohesive theme is important to me as a subscriber, and Your Pace Case nailed that, which you’ll see as I go through all the items below.
The box also contained a lot of inspiring advice, messages, and a network for women to turn to for support during their fitness challenge!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the inserts the box contained. While I consider myself to be more intermediate to advance in my fitness journey, the first point on the insert below is so true. Not only can it feel mentally defeating to not reach a big goal but, it’s not physically good for your body. Number 3 is also advice I remind myself all the time, so it was nice to reread this!
For myself, I decided that my goal was going to be to make sure 3-4 x a week I got more than 5 hours of sleep (yikes, I know but, this is sadly an average for me!), and also be active a minimum of 5 days a week which includes cycling, strength training, and walking.
There’s also a supportive Facebook Group to help along the way, which is really cool. I did not join this group while I was thinking about my own goals but, I joined today so hopefully next month I can find encouragement if I need it. I want to point out that not only is Your Pace Case a subscription box, but, it’s a network to help women grow and reach their goals. I can’t really explain how incredible I think that is, and how this can empower and support so many struggling women or those who feel lost on starting a healthy journey.
Let’s take a peek at what was inside this month’s box!
Bucky Sleep Mask – Retail Value $15.00
It’s funny, I’m an extremely light sleeper, and just about anything can wake me up at night. I don’t know why I don’t wear masks more often since it seems like a simple solution. I’m really glad that the box contained this item so I could test if this would make improvements to my sleep patterns. This mask was pretty perfect for the theme of the box because, not only did it nail the flower theme but, it also went hand in hand with getting more sleep. I felt this mask did a great job keeping the light out the few times I’ve used it so far. I am not sure if I woke up anymore rested, but, I plan to keep this item for when I travel or have restless nights and will let you know if that changes. I could see this making my sleep so much better on a long flight!
This company is also local to us, so I’m glad to support a local small Pacific Northwest company. They’re located in Tukwila, WA.
Flower Pot Mug – Retail Value $16.00
I love the message on this cup. I also like how the description in the May Flowers Challenge insert says “The perfect reminder to take advantage of all opportunities in life and be grateful. You are where you are meant to be at this moment. Plant your feet and bloom.”
Now I just need to find some pretty flowers to plant! For now I have it in my kitchen as a nice decoration.
Jelly Belly Sports Beans – Retail Value $2.00
I’ve never seen this product prior to this box but, I can’t say it’s anything less than genius! I’ve eaten similar jelly-type products before that contain carbs, electrolytes, and vitamins in them during 5k-10k runs I’ve completed. I never really enjoyed the taste of them (and the texture wasn’t something I liked either) so I was very delighted that these tasted delicious and like I would expect for a jelly bean to taste like. They also contain caffeine, so if you’re sensitive to that, this may not be a product for you. If you’re okay with caffeine (I pretty much run off it!), I highly recommend eating these prior to a long workout. I definitely could tell the difference when I did and plan to purchase in the future.
Snarky Tea, “Get your A** in Bed” – Retail Value $13.00
Well… this feels like a personal attack! No, I’m really just kidding but, I could not stop cracking up when I read this product. I guess we’ve all gone down some internet rabbit holes late at night or felt the sudden urge to look up our exes social media. I hope I’m not alone in the boat of “accidentally liking a picture when you’re looking at a photo posted 96 weeks ago by someone you’re internet stalking”. If you’re one of us then ..”get your a** in bed” and get some rest! The internet can wait until tomorrow!
I loved the flavor of this tea. It had a very calming scent to it thanks to the Chamomile flower in the ingredients, which helps promote a sleepy effect, and relaxes muscles and promotes the sense of being calm.
Last but, not least. this amazing medal! This product retails at $26.00 a month. I was given explicit instructions to not share or show anyone until the last day of the month. However, if you haven’t looked and want to be surprised, stop reading now!
I really think I crushed my goal last month by not only getting more sleep than usual, but, by cycling quite a bit, so I was very eager to open up this package and see what my reward was! Overall, I’m proud of myself. I’ve made so many good and healthy changes to my eating and exercise routines.
How breathtaking is this medal? It has so many cool patterns, bright colors, and the design is right in line for what I would expect for the May Flowers Theme. I am so happy that Your Pace Case includes such a thoughtful item in their box. I’ve had plenty of days where I don’t want to work out, eat well, be active, or get out of bed and not be lazy. By having a small token of reminders like this – it really keeps me motivated to keep going!
Overall Thoughts
Overall, my favorite part of this subscription box is that it feels so much more than just a normal box you’d receive with workout gear. It leaves each individual accountable to put their health and fitness journey into their own hands, and each month motivate themselves. While all the items that were in this box, were really nice touches, the experience of this box is not something that can be replicated easily. That’s what sets apart this really great subscription box and what’s created a great community for Your Pace Case. So for all my fellow ladies out there, no matter where you are in your journey, this box received my full stamp of approval. I think you will really love it, and there’s a prize at the end of each month to remind you that’s you got this, and your goals can be reached!
Who’s ready to amp up their fitness journey?
