I was really excited when this box first arrived at my house because this was my first CAUSEBOX! I heard about CAUSEBOX awhile back but, never got around to purchasing it. Fortunately for me, Abby got me this awesome box as as a gift for my birthday a few months back, and I loved it so much, I had to share all the goodies and what I got with you all!
One reason I was immediately drawn to CAUSEBOX is that many of the products that are in this box are from companies that are donating portions of their sales to charities, promoting fair-trade, and/or creating socially ethical products that one can feel good about owning. I am 100% proud to support companies that make this world a better place. Let’s face it – there’s a lot of horrible things going on in our current day in age, so receiving items like the ones in this box, reminds me that there still is goodness in the world. I also like how each product has its own unique story behind it.
Let’s discuss the products, shall we?
Luna Necatar, The Metamorphic Jade Roller – Retail Value $25
I’m not sure how I haven’t heard of this lovely and new facial and beauty tool concept, but I’m 100 percent on board with it. Taken from the website, “An ancient beauty tool made from crystal, Metamorphic naturally stays cool to the touch. The roller de-puffs the face, addresses under-eye circles and lymphatic drainage, promotes circulation, and erases facial tension and fine lines. An excellent tool to use in addition to your moisturizer or cream to encourage deeper absorption. Metamorphic rejuvenates, tones and massages tired facial muscles, revealing natural contours and improving elasticity.” I really loved the way this felt and I plan to use it as often as I can. It definitely had a nice cooling sensation which really relaxed me, but, I can’t say for sure if it really de-puffed my face. If anything, the act of using it was very relaxing and for that alone, I enjoy using this before bedtime so I can feel relaxed while I drift off to sleep.
Matr Boomie Earrings – Retail Value $24.00
These earrings are so pretty. At first glance, I thought they would feel heavy on my ears but, they did not at all. They were very lightweight and they go well with all kinds of different looks. I can see myself wearing these on a casual Saturday or at work for an important meeting. I also loved that on the packaging I could see that these earrings (and alike jewelry pieces) are homemade, help to fund community developments, and are fair trade. Now I just need the matching necklace to go with them!
Klei Beauty, Detox Facial Steam – Retail Value $22.00
If I’m being honest, this was probably the least favorite item in the box. To be fair though, a lot of my reasoning behind this is because I’m kind of lazy when it comes to using beauty items like this. This facial steam contains Chamomile, Lavender, Rose Petals, Rosemary, Juniper, and Spearmint, which together, all smelled simply wonderful. I love the smell of lavender and rose petals together, so this definitely was a big hit for me in that sense.
To use, you first place some of the ingredients in a bowl, boil some water, and then pour the boiling water into the bowl with the ingredients. Allow for it to cool a bit, and then drape a towel over your head and allow the steam to rise up and soak into your skin. The ingredients from the spearmint and floral component are good for your skin and offer a nice facial. I usually don’t have time to do things like this, so that’s why this is the least useful product for me. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not a good product – this is just a reflection of my fairly busy lifestyle. However, if you’re into pampering yourself, I do think you’d enjoy this as a nice way to treat yourself.
LSTN, The Crescent Ear Buds – Retail Value $99.99
I was pretty stoked to see headphones in this box, mostly because it’s not an item that you see that often. I was immediately drawn to the fact that LSNT donates some of the proceeds from every item sold to help people all over the world have access to hearing aids to enjoy sound and music. Personally for myself, music is a huge part of my life. I can’t imagine not having it in my life, so the fact that this company, is using its buying power for such an amazing cause is terrific in my eyes. I’m proud to now own such a cool product! Also, I realize it’s hard to tell from this picture but, the marble color on the earbuds is very pretty.
Now in terms of sound quality, I might be a sound snob but, I definitely prefer my Bose headphones over these. That being said, I still think these are a nice pair to own and are great for working out, listening to music on road trips, or for whenever you need them. Plus, you can’t beat knowing you’re supporting a company that has such a positive mission.
Idlewild Company, Grid 12-month 2019 Planner – Retail Value $32.00 (on sale through website for $12.99 as of 1/7/19!)
There’s a whole world/community of folks out there who are obsessed with planners. I’m not really one of these but, I was still ecstatic for this planner. I prefer to use my phone but, I am definitely going to take full advantage of this planner and start using it immediately!
Wrapping Paper, Claire Ritchie
This wrapping paper is absolutely beautiful. It was designed by Claire Ritchie, who is a very talented artist in Australia. She also designed the outside of the box so I thought it was neat that CAUSEBOX included this item for everyone. I don’t even want to use any of the wrapping paper because it’s simply beautiful! I’ll think of a special occasion though.
Each subscriber also received this matching postcard. Now to think of who I can write a friendly note to!
SiiZU Poncho Wrap – Retail Value $115.00
Ponchos definitely aren’t something I really wear or enjoy receiving in a box but, I do admit, this one was very gorgeous. The material is so nice though, and I do like the color I received. (Annual subscribers had the option to choose which color they wanted to receive, but, mine was a surprise). I’ll more than likely just wear it casually around my house since the material is super comfy. I also LOVE that SiiZU only uses 100 percent natural ingredients for their clothing items. No harsh chemicals, and no toxic materials. That alone makes me want to continue to use this poncho since it’s environmentally friendly and I know it’s completely safe for my home and to wear.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, for this being my first CAUSEBOX I was more than impressed! Each item was not only unique, but, each company has it’s own mission and it’s own story to tell. I can tell that CAUSEBOX carefully curated each of it’s products to stand behind their mission, and I loved that. I’m now completely sold on this box and I’m going to become an annual subscriber. Even though there were a couple of items I don’t think I’ll get much use out of, I plan to donate them or give them to someone I’m close with. I want to pass along these amazing and feel good products so other people are aware of the companies and all the amazing work their doing.
From what I can tell, it appears the Winter Box is unfortunately sold out but, they do offer a Winter Welcome box available which sounds just as promising as this box. After going to their website, I entered my email and they gave me a code to use immediately, so don’t walk but, run over to their website to sign up now and subscribe to this terrific box! I’m really looking forward to their next box, which will be the Spring 2019 box!
