This is our second review of The Introverted Chick subscription box.  Based on our first experience with them, we were really excited to see what they had in store for us this month!

The first thing in the box was a mini-magazine, which included a letter from the founder of the box, a list of products featured in this month’s box, a “Meet Your Maker” section, and the reveal for February’s theme!  This insert is one of the most detailed ones I have seen and I really appreciate that the company explains why they picked the items they did since that ties the whole box together really nicely.

Thoreau Quote Bag

The past year I have been trying to reduce my plastic use and one of the easy changes to make was to incorporate reusable bags into my everyday life.  I really like the quote on this bag and have been using it all week to haul my lunch to work.  The fabric is a nice thick quality and I’m sure it will hold up nicely.

You’re Awesome Pop Open Cards

How cool are these cards?  I might be “weird” but the sound of pulling the card open is soothing to me.  Then reading my secret message is like icing on the cake.  I have never seen anything like these before, but they will be proudly exhibited on my desk for all to enjoy!

Champagne Dreams Gummies

I have actually had these before and I do like the flavor.  Still, normally I wouldn’t be stoked to get them in a box.  However, I loved that in the insert The Introverted chick explained why these are included, “Since I couldn’t send you a bottle of New Year’s bubbly, I sent you the next best thing…”  Sure, this is a rather small item to include in the box, but like my parents always said, “It’s the thought that counts!”  And the thought was put into this item enough for me to appreciate it.

Wine Bottle Light

I love using fairy lights to decorate.  I have them in my cubicle and around my house and have been meaning to get one similar to these for putting in a wine bottle.  Also, I want to point out how awesome it was that extra batteries were included!  That forethought shows how much time is spent curating each piece in this subscription box!

“Go For It” Wooden Sign

This is a fairly small wooden sign, which made it perfect for my office space!  I love the colors and of course the positive message.  I am a person that surrounds myself with affirmations, so this was right up my alley.

Notebook

I’m not huge on notebooks in general, instead, I tend to take notes via speaking into my phone.  However, the inside of this notebook sparked my interest.  The dots on the pages reminded me of a game my husband and I used to play while traveling years ago.  I showed him the pages and we both reminisced on that time in our lives.  We both decided this would be a fun thing to keep in my purse for times we are waiting around during appointments, etc.

Hot/Cold Cup, 24oz

I love the design on this cup, gold is so in right now!  For me, it is a little too flashy to use at the office, however, I will be using this at home for sure!  Nothing like showing my 5-year old that underestimating me is a bad idea.  Ha.  I love that this cup is 24 ounces too since the one I use already is only 16 and I am constantly having to refill it.

Tabula Rasa Cocoa Butter Body Scrub

Body scrubs are one of my favorites “treat yourself” products.  At first, I was a bit put off at the thought of an “unscented” scrub, since part of the fun for me is the yummy scents that I normally enjoy.  However, the insert convinced me that they couldn’t have picked a better scrub for this New Year box! “Tabula Rasa is a philosophical theory from John Locke that we are all born with our mind as a tabula rasa or blank slate.  Locke’s idea is that mind is empty, and all knowledge comes from our sense experiences (seeing, hearing, touch, etc…).  Keeping that in mind, Tabula Rasa is a perfect name for a scrub.  Empty your mind while sweetly exfoliating your body with generous handfuls of cane sugar.”  How perfect is that?  To top it off, the scrub is aaaaaamazing and perfect for the dry January weather!

“Enjoy the Silence” Pin

I really don’t use pins anywhere, but this is the ideal pin to add to the white reusable bag.  I don’t get a lot of silence in my days, with being a mom and all.  So it is important to enjoy it when it comes.

Overall Thoughts

I am just as impressed with this box as I was with The Introverted Chick’s debut box.  The high level of curation was once again the shining star.   Items that I normally might not have preferred to receive actually made my day, since by reading the insert I was able to see why those items were included.  That attention to detail makes me feel like a valued consumer and helps keep my interest for future boxes.  Also, as with the first box, the quality of all items was extremely high, which again shows the level of thought that is put into the contents each month.  Next month’s theme is “I Love Books” so make sure to come back to read that review!
