If you haven’t heard yet, Causebox is now Alltrue.  See the below statement on the name change from their FAQ Page:

“Our vision is to build a community that has a positive impact on the planet, and leave the world a better place than we found it. While our seasonal boxes have been incredibly impactful in improving the lives of many, and are not going anywhere, Alltrue represents our broader commitment to providing members more ways to expand their social and environmental consciousness through a number of new features we will be introducing to our community — like the always available eco-friendly Essentials Shop and editorial print magazine All Good Things.”

While the name has changed, many things still remain the same.  Allture is still driven to help make the world a better place by curating socially conscious products.  And the artwork on their box is still as beautiful as ever.  Plus, we still got the summer cute postcard (see picture above) that we had been accustomed to receiving in the past.  Let’s check out the products that came in our Summer 2021 Welcome Box from Allture.

reduce, To Go Bowl – Retail Value $20.57

Although I have no plans to return to office life as I knew it pre 2020, this insulated to-go bowl will still get lots of use.  In fact, my son’s school is planning on returning to in-person learning next week and this will be a perfect way to keep his cold foods cold OR his warm foods warm.  He was tossing around all of the possibilities last night while we tested this bowl.  The information card says the bowl will keep foods cold for 20 hours.  So, we decided to place some ice cubes in the bowl before bed and check them in the morning.  After 8 hours, the ice was still frozen.  So we decided to leave them until lunchtime and check again.  After a total of 12 hours, the ice was starting to melt.  However, the contents were still cold and didn’t leak even while we turned it upside down for a few minutes.   Overall, this bowl passed our testing and will be perfect to use for school lunch.

MPOWERD, Solar String Lights – Retail Value $49.95

These solar string lights were the product that I was most excited about getting.  I love to lay in a hammock in our yard well into the evening, but I didn’t have any sort of lights out there.  As soon as I got the Alltrue box, I ripped these lights open and ran outside to charge them.  After about an hour I strung them from our apple trees (above my hammock).  Every night for at least two weeks I was outside in the hammock enjoying the twinkle of these lights.  Now that Fall is approaching, I have packed these away with our camping supplies and can’t wait to use them in the woods next year.  Watch our Tiktok to see how peaceful my hammock evenings were.

I love that I can charge the lights outside, however, there is also a USB cord to charge them in case the sun doesn’t want to make an appearance.  Also, the way they wind up into the canister is pretty impressive.  I would 100% buy another set of these to have on hand or to give as a gift.

Pepper + Vetiver, Nesting Bowls  – Estimated Retail Value $36

Part of being an adult means getting excited about nesting bowls.  These bowls came in our of the past Causebox boxes and I happen to already have a set.  However, I loved them so much that I wanted another set of 3.  The colors are so peaceful and the sizes are perfect to use as snack bowls during BBQs or dinner parties.  I believe the last set I acquired over a year ago, and they have held up really well.

COSMEDIX, Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Cream – Retail Value $60

I replaced my moisturizer with this one from COSMEDIX for one month to see if I noticed a difference in my skin.  Their website claims, “Skin Thirst is an ultra-hydrating Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Cream that helps plump the look of skin, soften the appearance of wrinkles, and refine the look of pores.”  The first few days, I wasn’t a fan of the feel of this cream as it was a bit more sticky than what I’m used to using.  However, it grew on me with each passing day.  My concealer and foundation went on smoothly over the moisturizer, which was a concern I always have with new products.  And after a solid month of use, I can say that I did notice a slight reduction in wrinkles on my forehead and minimized pores on my nose. While the bottle looks small, a little bit goes a long way and I have at least another month’s worth of this cream on hand still.

Brand with a Heart, Leave-In Conditioner – Retail Value $22

Oh, how I love a good leave-in conditioner!  The first thing I do with most hair products is to check the smell, this one reminded me of tanning lotions I used as a teenager…very tropical.  After passing the scent test, I move on to using the product in real life.  Over the past month, I was able to use this leave-in conditioner five times.  Each time, my hair was left super soft and looking smooth and shiny.  And while my hair can tend to get oily when using leave-in conditioners, I didn’t experience that with this product.  Overall, adding this conditioner to my weekly routine is a no-brainer.

Adesse New York, Nail Care Duo – Estimated Retail Value $40

This is another product that I have gotten in the past, however, I can’t recall if it was from Causebox or another subscription box.  To be honest, I had forgotten how much I love this nail duo.  I recently got my nails done with gel at a saloon (after having naked nails for over a year).  Once the gel started lifting I was not impressed with the way my nail beds were looking.  Thankfully I was able to apply the Growth Optimizer right away to help strengthen my nails and keep me from picking at them any further.  The Growth Optimizer goes on like clear polish, however only takes about 30 seconds to dry.  And my nails looked and felt much better after applying.  The cuticle oil is a necessity, especially with winter coming.

Overall Thoughts

The overall value of this box is off the charts.  The moisturizer cream alone costs more than this whole box.  And while I love a good deal, that isn’t my main attraction to the Alltrue subscription.  I adore the socially conscious brands that they choose to work with.  It helps me remember that even when the world seems to be crumbling…there are still people and companies out there trying to make it a better place to live.  And being able to support those companies is worth it to me. Plus, you just read my full review…I love each and every item curated for this Summer 2021 welcome box.  That is what I call a win-win!
