Please keep in mind that Boxycharm has variations of boxes that subscribers may receive. This includes products, shades, different colors, etc. I will be reviewing what I personally received. I will, however, mention products that other box variations contain.

As you probably can tell, I will be reviewing the upgraded version “Boxyluxe” for September of 2019. This means I received more full-size products than the normal $21.00 a month subscription.

This month’s theme was “All Access” and included some awesome brands.

First I will mention what each Boxyluxe member received no matter what variation their box was, and then I will go through the variations I received. This quarter’s subscription was a bit different in that BoxyCharm had previously sent out an email asking charmers for their preference on items! I love a good customized box!

STILA Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, Patina Shimmer – Retail Value $22.00

This lipstick is no joke and I promise you that it’s in for the long haul. I drink water or some kind of beverage pretty much all day and I’ve gotten this lipstick to last through that.

I’m not sure if it was the lighting in my room or what but, it felt like the color of mine was a bit darker than what BoxyCharm has posted but, still a pretty color none the less. My only disappointment is this isn’t something I’d wear throughout the day and I would wear it for a special event, so I can’t really test out much of the “all day theory” but, I’m definitely a big fan of this brand and product.

IGK Hair Mistress Hydrating Balm – Retail Value $29.00

First off I absolutely love that this product is vegan and cruelty-free. That’s probably one of the most important factors in deciding if I’m going to buy or wear a product. It smells just like coconut and even though it’s a hair balm, it doesn’t coat my hair in a waxy substance or weighs it down. It’s also a versatile product, meaning you can put it in your hair when it’s wet/damp and style it or use it to tame frizziness or unruly hair. Personally I can’t use it as a stand-alone product but, I used it before flat ironing my hair and I love the way it turned out!

Next, are some variations of products.

Tarte – Clay Play Face Shaping Palette – Retail Value $45.00

No surprise I was thrilled to see this palette in my box as Tarte is for sure one of my favorite brands. Tarte included this insert with some ideas on how to create an awesome look with the shadows.

The only thing I won’t be doing is using the shadows for my brows. I tend to have my brow routine down pretty well, and stray away from eye shadows as a product for them. I kind of like mine “locked down” and prefer to use actual brow products. However, using shadow is a great way to fill in your brows, especially for beginners.

These shades tend to resonate with my soul, as I tend to use pretty “safe” colors (for a lack of a  better word) when I create daily looks. I love creating beautiful bold looks but, I have a ton of other palettes I can use already for that. I also love that it comes with contouring shades.

Subscribers may have also received Violet Voss – Essentials – Eyeshadow Palette – 10 pan (retail value $29.00)

Moda Pro, Studio by Royal & Langnickel 8 Piece Brush Kit – Retail Value $69.99

This was a variation I picked out. I really need new brushes. I tend to hang on to mine forever not only because I’m kind of cheap but because when I find a brush I like, I’m hanging on to it. I have received brushes from Moda before so I knew their brand was legit and would not steer me wrong.

This is a must-have brush set that I highly recommend. Each brush equals out to be around $8.75 a piece which is a steal considering some brushes can be upwards of $20.00 each. I also love that they don’t shed and they hold up through many applications.

Subscribers may have also received a 32 MM Clipless Curling Iron w/ Cool-Tip by Sutra Beauty.

Spongelle Mani Pedi Treatment – Retail Value $18.00

I like receiving products that aren’t makeup. I also love receiving products from brands I know and trust. If you saw the review that was posted about SinglesSwag, then you more than likely saw the review on the Spongelle buffer. I was excited to try this mostly because it’s been an embarrassing amount of time since I have been to a salon to get a pedicure or a manicure. An at-home one would have to do for now.

Clean Skin Water Bottle Infuser – Retail Value $17.95

I really do like to receive non-makeup items sometimes in BoxyCharm boxes so I was happy to get this in my box. I cut up some strawberries and threw it in the infuser and found myself drinking more water than usual! I accidentally threw the box in the recycle bin before I could see if it was dishwasher safe or not so, for now, I’ve been handwashing it after each use.

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream – Retail Value $65.00

A lot of people rave about this product. Between this and the other variables that could have been in the box, I was impartial to both of them. My initial impressions are that it has a pretty nice scent and doesn’t burn or irritate my eyes. Since I have not been using it very long, I can’t say for sure if it’s helping yet but, hoping that it will!

Subscribers may have also received Glow Recipe – Pineapple C Bright Serum (Retail Value $49.00)

Here are the variations I received personally. Note there are several items that could be in other boxes.

Hank & Henry Blickity Black Liquid Liner – Retail Value $20.00

Give me all the black liquid liners, please! I loved that the tip of this eyeliner was nice and thick and glided onto my upper eyes easily. It was also easy to create the winged-liner look with this product so that’s a win in my book.

Dr. Brandt - Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask

Dr. Brandt,  Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask – Retail Value $52.00

This is definitely the product I need in my life. I tend to get patches of redness on my face between breaking out and just the normal look of my skin.  At night time, apply this product and do not rinse it off your face. According to Dr. Brandt’s website, it takes between 6-8 weeks to get the full results of this product so fingers crossed I can combat some of the redness I’ve been dealing with!

Overall Thoughts & Other Items

Total Price of this Box: $49.99

Product Value: $400.00

Difference of: $350.01 in savings!

I will always go on record that BoxyCharm is seriously one of the best monthly subscriptions for any beauty/makeup lover out there or for anyone who is looking to grow their makeup collection but, may not be sure where to start. A normal month of BoxyCharm will include 5-6 full-size (yes FULL-SIZE) products for $21 a month. If you’ve ever been to Ulta, Sephora, or alike makeup store, you know that’s an incredible steal. You can also upgrade your boxy to BoxyLuxe, just like I had for an additional $28.99 every quarter. I.e. you pay a little bit more each quarter for a box that has an additional 5-6 items, for a total of $49.99. (You must be a current Charmer to upgrade).

My final verdict is the BoxyLuxe upgrade is always well worth the value of the subscription.
