I have always had a sweet tooth and marshmallows have been a long-time favorite of mine.  So when I heard there is a subscription box for marshmallows I knew I had to review it!

One of my favorite movies growing up is “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory “and seeing this golden ticket themed insert brought me way back to my childhood.  Not only is the insert beautiful, on the other side there was all the information that I could have hoped for on the products included in this month’s box.  This month’s theme was Raspberry Lychee Lime Riff and included marshmallows, graham crackers, cocoa, chocolate, and a cute spoon.

Marshmallows

Raspberry Lychee Lime

While I love marshmallows, I can’t say that I’ve ever tried a homemade version.  I really never knew it was a thing and have always simply purchased the generic bags of marshmallows at the grocery store.  My life will never be the same after trying these flavored homemade treats!  The featured marshmallows this month were Raspberry Lychee Lime and Twice Vanilla Brandied.  Both flavors were delicious, but I really enjoyed the fruity flavor of the Raspberry Lychee Lime.  The texture difference in homemade marshmallows is more on the chewy side in comparison to the more airy grocery store versions.

Twice Vanilla Brandied

Lime Zested Graham Crackers

The graham crackers stole the show in my opinion.  While I was most excited to try the marshmallows, the cookies weren’t really on my mind.  That was until I tried one.  My son and I both agreed that they were amazing.  The soft smooth texture was perfect.  I only wished there were a few more in the box so we could make a couple more smores to enjoy.

Chocolate

To accompany the gourmet marshmallows and graham crackers, Edible Opus included some scrumptious Ghirardelli chocolate squares.  The filling on these squares was delightful.  With the more bitter dark chocolate, I always love a sweet filling to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The Smores Experience

This is a completely different smore combination than I have ever even thought to experiment with.  The unique taste was one that I know I will be craving for a while to come.  I loved the lime graham crackers with the raspberry chocolate and marshmallows.  I did end up microwaving the marshmallow since the weather wasn’t cooperating enough for a campfire, but it still turned out very good.  The only thing I would suggest is either larger cookies or smaller marshmallows since the marshmallows were a bit big and exploded off the sides a bit,

Chocolate Raspberry Cocoa

Included with the cocoa was a cute little stir spoon, which I thought was a lovely touch.  I also noticed that this cocoa included a hint of chipotle and I was very eager to give it a try.  The chocolate was rich, but not overly sweet.  The main notes I detected was the fruity raspberry,  To top my cup off I added two of the vanilla marshmallows and it made it even that much better.  The Fall weather is among us in the great state of Washington so it was wonderful to sit down with some decadent cocoa and watch the storm roll past us.

Overall

I am in love with this box.  Edible Opus is bringing one of the most unique subscription boxes to the market and I’m ecstatic to see where they go from here.  This is the perfect box to splurge on monthly as a way to treat yourself.  Their box would also make a wonderful gift since the beautiful packaging is sure to go over well with anyone that receives it.  All the items were of amazing quality and freshness too so you know you are in for a real treat when their box shows up on your door.  Do yourself a favor and give them a try!
