The Clean Couture box came complete with a well-designed pamphlet that detailed the products and also included a “woman of note”. I also appreciated the helpful price insert which listed the breakdown of what you would pay for each item. The value of this box is just above the price per item, which is always a plus.
Beach Waves Mermaid Soap – Retail Value $5.50
If you have read my past reviews you know I love bar soaps and I love all things associated with the ocean! This beautiful mermaid soap a was broken upon arrival, however, it is still adorable. This soap has a very nice lather and doesn’t dry out my skin. When I wash my hands, it feels like I also applied lotion.
Shampoo Bar – Retail Value: $7.50 & Conditioner Bar – Retail Value: $4.50
In my personal efforts to reduce plastic waste, shampoo and conditioner bars have come to my mind on a few occasions. I have been wanting to try a set, so was ecstatic when this combo came in the Clean Couture box. The insert says they should last as long as 2-3 bottles of shampoo/conditioner! What a fabulous way to cut out plastic. It took me a little more time to figure out how to use these bars, but now I love them and can’t wait to try other scents!
Starfish Bath Bombs – Retail Value: $8.00
Who doesn’t love a fun bath bomb? My son and I like to do feet soak with bath bombs on Friday nights as a way to unwind from the week. I loved the added glitter and how long the bomb fizzled. My son loved the color and the shape of this unique starfish. It was nice that this box included two of the same bombs so I could try one and gift the other one.
Luminizer – Retail Value: $6.50
While I love everything in the Clean Couture box, this was hands down the most unexpected and coolest items. I have been playing around with highlighters this spring, so this was the perfect item for me to receive. It is a really thick texture, but still airy enough to feel light when it’s on my skin. Also, this jar will last me a long time, as not much is needed for a beautiful highlight!
Overall
I am thoroughly impressed with the May 2019 Clean Couture box! It has everything that I hope for in a bath subscription box. And some items that I wouldn’t have even thought to hope for. All the items are of amazing quality and I loved how unique the selections are. I am looking forward to next month’s box already! Lastly, how cute is that bonus palm tree pen? It gives me major summer vibes while I’m at work.
