I am absolutely thrilled to share another Earthlove Box with you all. Not only is the owner of Earthlove located close to both Abby and me but their box truly inspires me and makes me want to continue to do my part and continue being self-aware of my carbon footprint on this planet. I don’t go overboard or anything when it comes to all natural or organic items but, I’ve definitely switched a lot of small habits that over time will add up and leave less of an impact on our planet.
This is the Spring 2019 Quarterly Subscription and for this season’s box, Earthlove is a proud supporter Xerces Society!
Listed above are just a few ways we can all do our part to help bring back pollinators. My family has always loved planting flowers, and I know my husband wants to do a lot of that this summer, so it feels good to know that I’m doing something to help in a small way. I’m also going to spread the word to my friends and family, and hope that our followers will follow suit and help out with this important mission.
Looks like a ton of great items came in this month’s box. I found myself in awe of a lot of the products when I unboxed everything and looked at all the items.
Earthlove also included this great pamphlet (pictured below) with more information on the featured nonprofit for this box.
I really do love how details went into this insert. I’m someone who wants all the details, so I don’t mind one bit when I receive these kinds of inserts in along with an overview of the products that will be in the box. I also want to know all about any featured nonprofits so I can make an informed decision on which ones I want to support.
As I had previously mentioned above, the featured non-profit for this box is Xerces Society.
It may not seem like a big thing but, as a society, we truly need to start realizing the impact that bees and other pollinators have in our society. Our little pollinator friends are very much needed in order to help sustain our food supply and protect our fragile ecosystems. If you’re interested in knowing what else can be done or want to know more information on Xerces Society, take a look at their site here.
Now let’s dive into the amazing products!
The History of Bees by Maja Lunde – Retail Value $26.00
At first glance, I thought this book would….literally be a detailed history about bees. However, it’s so much more than that. It’s a really captivating piece that talks about the lives of beekeepers and shows the devastating effects of what can and will happen if we don’t protect bees. I know people think of bees as being scary or dangerous (thinking allergy wise) but, our ecosystem and way of life depend on these creatures. I myself never really understood this until a couple of years ago so this book has been extremely helpful for me. I’m really enjoying reading it and look forward to finishing it soon!
Reusable William Morris Cup, by eCoffee – Retail value $15.99
This is definitely one of the prettiest cups I’ve seen in a long time! I love all the details and colors. I also love that it’s made up of bamboo fiber and silicone which is a very earth-friendly material. It worked really well and kept my coffee nice and piping hot so I can’t imagine going back to another kind of cup that will eventually end up in a landfill somewhere.
Wings of Jade Bohohead band, Soul Flower – Retail value $18.00
I’m in complete awe of how beautiful this headband is. I usually don’t wear headbands too often because they tend to give me headaches but, since this one can be worn in different ways, I’ll definitely give it a shot. I can easily loosen it up so if I find a headache coming on so I should be just fine. Also, check this out: 50% of the material that makes up this gorgeous piece is from recycled plastic. I had no idea this was even a thing and glad that I can help share this information with you. I also think it’s really amazing and genius that companies and people are thinking of ways they can use this type of material in everyday items.

Pukka Tea, Relax & Supreme Matcha Green flavors – Estimated Value $1.00
I love trying out new teas so was delighted to see this in the box. The Supreme Matcha Green was the favorite of mine and kept me warm since my office was a complete frozen icebox last week. This was a bonus item in the box and it was perfect to try out with my new mug.
Rosemary Citrus Aura Spritz, Mystic Ginger Apothecary – Retail value $10.00
I found this smell very pleasant and it left a really nice citrus smell. I couldn’t really smell the rosemary too much but, that did not bother me a whole lot. I’m going to keep this in my downstairs bathroom to use as an air freshener since it’s not too strong and I like that it’s a more organic and natural scent. I dislike a lot of air freshening/lien spray products since a lot of them tend to be strong and potent. Those can give me an instant headache but, this one didn’t at all.
Nourishing Hand Lotion, The Farmer’s Touch – Retail Value $25.00
At first glance, the consistency of this lotion looked like a body butter to me which was extremely appealing to me. It smells like chocolate to me in a way – like if I was going to be baking something. However, I think it’s actually the almonds and coconut oil I’m smelling. Either way, I love this lotion and plan to keep it in my purse. It left my hands super smooth, although a bit greasy so that’s my only tiny gripe about it. That could be because I used too much of it though. One thing I also really loved about this company was that if I send back the recycled container, I can get a $5 discount off my next lotion! I thought that was really awesome how environmentally consciousness the seller is. Also, I encourage you to take a peek at the rest of the items that are on her Etsy. There are tons of organic products that are organically grown right from her farm!
Inspiring Energies Affirmation Deck by Sue Lion – Retail Value $4.50
This mini deck of cards contains “inspiring energies” affirmations. I think there’s something to be said for the power of words. I find when I’m having a hard day I can let myself spiral into a funk and allow myself to become consumed with negative energy. I try hard not to allow this to happen but, emotions can get the best of us. Keeping something like this around to look through could really benefit me on days like that. The poems that are featured on each card may be short and sweet but, as I said, the power of words and positive energy can be very impactful. I included a picture of my favorite one. The last sentence “Today is the best time to open your heart and let those around you feel your true inner light” really resonated with me for some reason. I took it as I need to open myself and let those around me so who I am since I tend to be closed off and not really willing to put myself out there.
Grow Your Own Tea Herbal Garden Kit with Lemon Mint, Decker Rd Seeds – Estimated retail value $6.00
This kit included everything I would need to grow my lemon mint herbal tea. How fun! Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to work on planting the seeds in the pot it came with yet but, I will update the review with photos once I have the chance to complete this lovely project. With spring in the air, this will be a fun project to do with my daughter. She loves being outdoors so I’m going to complete this activity with her over the next few weeks and capture our results. Lemon tea sounds absolutely delicious too!
Lemongrass Cherry Matcha Superfood Bar, LivBar – Retail Value $2.50
I won’t lie – I’m not a huge fan of lemongrass anything. I’ve tried in a lot of different products but, just can’t get behind it…until now that is. This bar was so delicious and filling! It was the perfect combination of lemongrass and cherry flavors. They balanced each other out perfectly so I couldn’t taste one over the other. The consistency was that of a granola bar, but the soft and chewy kind. It also left me satisfied for a while which bars usually don’t. It’s also vegan for any of our vegan followers out there who are looking for a new and delicious snack. I could definitely see myself purchasing this in the future.
Overall Thoughts
Overall this box was an absolute delight! It contained several items that I happily used and can continue to use over time. The retail value of this box is much more than what you pay for it, as well as all of the items stay true to the mission of this subscription box. I find myself really enjoying boxes where I can learn new information (or at least refresh my memory on information) and I feel this box really did a great job at educating me and opening my eyes to important issues. I also like that all of the products in the box were tied together cohesively and made sense for a spring themed box. It also made me really excited that the weather is changing! Spring can be hit or miss in the Pacific Northwest (think lots of rain here!) but, I still love to see all the beautiful trees and flowers blooming again and it brings us closer to some warmer weather. What do you guys think? Are you excited for spring?
