Empress Mimi sent us their Cote d’Azur set, which I have to say, is an absolutely beautiful set of lingerie to receive for our first box. I can’t even recall the last time I purchased lingerie. Real talk and I am sure a lot of us struggle in this department but, I lack confidence in my own body. Therefore wearing lingerie is not typically on my radar. However, there’s something to be said for receiving beautiful pieces like this just for yourself (or for someone else if that’s what you like!) Plus some of their boxes also contain other loungewear items which I thought would be a great addition to receive each month.
The Cote d’Azur box was inspired by the French Riviera, which is a summer destination for different Hollywood royalty.
The three different tier subscriptions that Empress Mimi offers on their website are House of Frillies Box, The Queen Box, and the Empress Box. Depending on which box subscribers choose, will depend on what kind of items are in the box. I love that there are different varieties of items to receive, as opposed to everyone having the same box sent to them each month.
It was incredibly helpful that at the top of their website, a size guide is included to help you figure out which size you may wear. I know personally, I’m always guessing on my sizing for bras and other items since they can all run differently. Also, depending on the material, the sizes can fluctuate for me. That can be pretty frustrating. If you are unsure of which size to purchase, drop Empress Mimi a line and they are happy to help you figure out what size to purchase!
These pasties were included in the box this month. I have not worn them yet because, well, as I mentioned, I’m a bit uncomfortable with my body at the moment but, I’ve seen some pictures on their Instagram and they look great with the lingerie set we received!
This is the set of lingerie that was included in the box this month. I really love the color of this piece! I also really appreciated that Empress Mimi included a note in the insert about the best way to put the bra on. Otherwise, I could picture myself struggling to get the bra on! The material is so soft, yet, it still has a very beautiful lace feel to it. I find it to be quite comfortable.
All of the details on this piece are absolutely so stunning. It felt so delicate and beautiful. It was very evident that this piece had a lot of thought put into it and did not feel just like another generic set of lingerie thrown together. I know for myself personally, if I’m going to dress up in something, then I want something that’s stunning and beautiful! This set is all of that and more.
In my own experience, I feel that their sizing is pretty accurate to what I wear for normal bras and underwear. The bra felt a bit snug in some areas but, since it’s a fitted piece, it wouldn’t have looked as nice if it was loose, so I didn’t mind it. The bottom thong piece also had adjustable straps on the sides so I was able to get the perfect fit for me and feel confident wearing this gorgeous piece.
Overall thoughts
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this box. Even if no one sees me wearing any of the items sent, it’s such a beautiful piece, and I could wear it underneath something and feel confident without anyone even knowing. I feel the quality of the set was really nice as well. Plus, as mentioned above, all the little details added to the set made it even more special. This would be a fun box to get every month as a gift to myself. I lack some confidence so this could be a great way to help build that without having to do anything drastic. I also love how great their customer service was! That’s always a huge plus for me when working with a company.
