Jackie’s Chocolates is an artisan chocolate company that believes chocolate is better when made the old fashion way.  Passing on the tradition of “Grandma Jackie” to their customer is what they are all about.  In addition to their full menu, they offer two subscription options.   Let’s Indulge (1/2 pound) and Enough To Share about 1 pound).  We received the “Let’s Indulge” subscription box, which includes 1/2 pound of assorted chocolates themed for Mother’s Day.

The level of care when it comes to packaging the chocolate is top notch.  There is an outer box, then a thermal envelope, and lastly the box of sweet chocolate.   The thermal envelope helps protected the goods from melting in the heat.  Incredibly it sat on my porch for about ten hours and was still in perfect shape when we unboxed it.  I was very thankful that they took the time and care to package this so thoughtfully.

One of the issues that I had with this box in June 2018 was the lack of information on what I was eating.  I was happy that this time around they did include a list of flavors included in the box.  And most of the flavors could be easily matched to the items as I tasted each one.

This is my second time reviewing Jackie’s Chocolate, with the last time being in June 2018.  This time around I tried a little bit of every chocolate so I could write the best review possible.  I did share with my husband and son and added some of their feedback into this review as well.

Solid Chocolate Ladybug

The pieces that were most attractive to us were tested first.  That meant the ladybug and the flower pieces.  The solid chocolate ladybug was a dense piece of rich chocolate.  It was on the larger side so I shared it with my son who happily helped me taste test it.  He thought it was good too.   Next up, we tried both of the tulip truffles.  The centers were thick and didn’t run out of the piece after cutting into it.

Each and every chocolate that we tasted was rich and flavorful.  The centers were the make or break it for me and since I like nearly all sweets each one was a hit it’s own way.  The only piece that I wasn’t a fan of was the MarzipanI noticed a weird aftertaste with that one and I’m not sure if it was from the almond flavoring or the coloring that was used.  Almond is one of my favorite flavors in baking so I’m thinking it is just overdone on these pieces.

Marzipan

Once again, my husband liked every chocolate in the box.  I had him pick his top two and he listed them as the Milk Chocolate Coconut Cream and The Milk Chocolate Raspberry Cream. He stated that he likes Jackie’s Chocolate over store bought because it is a little less sweet which allows him to taste the filling better,

My son and I both loved the Jumbo Dark Chocolate Marshmallow.   Not only was it the largest in the box, but it also had the perfect fluffy and gooey center.  I could eat a whole box of these.  The other one that we both agreed was one of the best in the box was the Milk Chocolate Caramel Marshmallow. Notice a pattern here?   We are suckers for marshmallow.

Overall

Who doesn’t like to get chocolate delivered to their door?  The box and each piece of chocolate are beautiful making it the perfect gift for any occasion.   I especially like that there are different size options to pick from.   Another really neat attribute about Jackie’s Chocolate subscription is the fact that each month has different flavors included.  Many flavors are also exclusive to the subscription and not available in their online store.  So if you are a chocolate lover, or know a chocolate lover, head to their site and check out this subscription.
