About Kidbox

There are a few things that I love about Kidbox.  First, their Give Back Program is wonderful.  When we keep a full box we are able to choose a charity to have Kidbox donate to.  I  teach my son the importance of giving back so this program helps me show him this type of practice in real life.  Another thing that is great is the fact that this subscription box comes with zero risks.  If I don’t love my box, I send it back.  I don’t pay return shipping or a styling fee.  Basically, I have nothing to lose.  Lastly, they send clothing to my son five times a year which keeps his closet pretty well stocked at all times and keeps me from having to do the majority of clothing shopping.  The fun extras help too since my son is always excited to see what the surprise is.  Now let’s jump into the items that arrived in our 2019 New Year Box…

Kids Club – Knit Stripped Top – Retail Value $36

Kids Club is a brand that is exclusive to KidBox and we have always really liked their quality.  This basic long sleeve shirt is perfect for layering in the frosty January cold.  The material is soft and stretchy and I love the cuff sleeves.

WESC – Geometric Shape Hoodie – Retail Value: $46.50

This is my favorite item in the whole box.  I am a sucker for hoodies and they are so soft and comfy this time of year.  I also really like the unique look of this hoodie.  My son loves it too! I couldn’t find this online in boys sizing but, I did find the men’s version at Nordstrom.

APPAMAN – Science Whiz Graphic Tee  – Retail Value: $39.50, on Sale for $29

This was also one of my favorites.  Not only is it super soft, but it also has a nice stretch it that will make it extra comfy for my son.  My son loves all things Science so he was excited to get an item that captured his passion for it.  I will be looking into more items from this company because the quality was impeccable.

Lee – Skinny Jeans – Retail Value: $36.00

While Lee isn’t my favorite brand, these are actually really cute.  They fit my son really well too so we decided it was worth it to keep them.  I like the distressed look of them.

Triple Five Soul – Drawstring Joggers – Retail Value: $44.50

I love the style of these joggers and my son loves that there are zipper pockets!  My only “gripe” is that they almost look faded.  I wish they were a little crisper color of black.

Paper Denim & Cloth – Marled Jogger – Retail Value: $46.00

At first glance, these were my favorite item in the box.  I adore the look of them and knew my son would love the zipper pockets.  After looking closer I wasn’t a huge fan of the material since it seems like it will pill easily, especially in the knees.  The pants are really thick and plush though so I know they will be cozy for my son to wear.  He noted that the zipper on the pockets is more for show than use, but I still liked the look of it.   While we both still really like these pants,  they weren’t our favorite item in the box.

Overall

This is the first KidBox in a year that I ended up keeping everything.  I was thinking about canceling my subscription since I hadn’t gotten a really good box in a long time.   However, I decided to keep them coming since there is no risk and I can easily ship back the entire box if it is a dud. I am happy I stuck with it since this box was a perfect fit for us.  My son loved every item in this box!  They were able to capture my son’s style wonderfully this time around and the sizes were perfect too.  For $98 I was able to score three new outfits that can mix and match with items he already has in his closet.   We can’t wait for our next box!

Here is a breakdown of what was included in our box including prices for keeping individual items.
