About Kidbox

There are a few things that I love about Kidbox.  First, their Give Back Program is wonderful.  When we keep a full box we are able to choose a charity to have Kidbox donate to.  I  teach my son the importance of giving back so this program helps me show him the practice in real life.  Another thing that is great is the fact that this subscription box comes with zero risks.  If I don’t love my box, I send it back.  I don’t pay return shipping or a styling fee.  Basically, I have nothing to lose.  Lastly, they send clothing to my son five times a year which keeps his closet pretty well stocked at all times and keeps me from having to do the majority of clothing shopping.

Summer 2019 Box Contents

I was so excited to get this season’s Kidbox.  With an upcoming vacation and not a lot of time to go shopping, this box was much needed.  We are in desperate need of tank tops and shorts.  Our summer box included five t-shirts, one tank top, and four pairs of shorts.  Although we weren’t in need of t-shirts, in theory, we could have used all items if we were in love with them all.

I have to say this Kidbox has been our most disappointing to date.  While it included summer pieces, none of them were ones that we wanted to pay to keep.  The quality of most of the shirts was less than desirable, featuring decals that will or were already peeling off.  The shorts were ok, however only one was really something my son would wear.  We ended up keeping the below black shorts and only did so because we had a credit that was expiring before our next box.  Otherwise, we would have sent the whole box back.

I was so hopeful and expecting to buy the whole box, however, I am unwilling to pay the price for items that are of subpar quality.   It is boxes like this that remind me how happy I am that there are no styling fees or return shipping charges.  I really had nothing to lose by trying to fill his closet with this summer box.  It just didn’t work out this time for us.

Here is a breakdown of what was included in our box including prices for keeping individual items.
