I’m not much of a jewelry person or a hoarder of jewelry.  I live a pretty minimalistic lifestyle, however, I long to look as pulled together as some of my peers without adding to my mass of possessions in my apartment.  So when the owner of this box reached out to me for a review, I thought this box might be the perfect solution.  Plus, getting new jewelry whenever I want is a pretty neat idea.  So I filled out the style guide and waited for my first box to arrive.

The normal boxes contain three pieces but, to be transparent for the review, LeilaBox sent me three pieces along with a pair of earrings.  Since my ears aren’t pierced they didn’t want that to count as a piece and they still wanted to give our readers an idea of what a box with earrings might look like.   It is free to exchange your box as many times are you would like during each month for the same fee of $22.

I adore the dainty look and the beautiful colors of this bracelet.  This piece was comfortable to wear all day and definitely a piece I would consider buying. As you can see in the picture, it did scratch me a bit getting it on, as I wasn’t sure how adjustable it was without breaking it.  After that experience, I  looked at the LeilaBox website to see their policy on if pieces happen to break and was happy to see they understand that can happen from time to time.

“Arc” Necklace, Sterling Silver, CZ – Italian Ice

At first, I adored this necklace.  It is just simple enough to wear to work, yet enough sparkle to also wear out for dinner.  I had a change of mind though when the pendants kept flipping over all day.  I found myself constantly adjusting them as the day wore on.  This is why trying, before buying, jewelry though LeilaBox is great for me.

Toggle Necklace with Black and Gold Medallion – Italian Ice

From the chunky chain to the toggle closure, this necklace was so far off from my style.  I am glad they included it since it gives me a better idea of some of the pieces they have in inventory, however, I didn’t even wear this long enough for a picture.

Crystal Drop Earrings – Pin&Tube

These earrings are strikingly beautiful.  They would be perfect to wear to a wedding or any formal event.  One question that I had while unboxing the items was how sanitary it is to share earrings.  While I don’t have my ears pierced it was still a question I had in my mind and I figured our readers would be curious as well.  They did note on the website:

“Yes, all jewelry is cleaned and sanitized between each use. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Overall

I really like the idea of having loaner jewelry sent to me on demand.  The fact that for $22 a month I could constantly have fresh accessories is appealing. I also like that there is an option to buy any pieces that I fall in love with at a discounted rate.  My first box didn’t match my style perfectly, however, I feel like as time goes on they will hone in better based on my feedback.
