I’m definitely no jerky expert but, right off the bat, I have to say I was a huge fan of this subscription. The option to receive 1 all the way up to 6 bags of jerky is appealing, as it gives consumers the option that fits their lifestyle. I also really like that the company is into fitness and a healthier lifestyle so you know they’re looking at the ingredients of their products before sending them out to subscribers.
We were sent 5 different kinds of jerky. I figured that each would have their own unique taste but, I also quickly found out that all jerky is not created equal. They had different textures, shapes, sizes, and more. It was fun to taste all of them and find myself a new snack to keep around the house.
I quickly saw how this subscription would become an awesome one to get in the mail each month.
Aufschnitt Beef Jerky (Original Flavor) – Retail Value $6.00
I liked how the pieces were cut into pretty small portions, which made it easy to grab and would be nice on a road trip or on the go. I liked the flavors of this one and felt that all the ingredients complimented each other well. I noticed they also have a spicy and teriyaki flavor so I wouldn’t mind trying those in the future!
Side Project Jerky (Cowboy Flavor) – Retail Value $9.00
Unfortunately, this jerky was a bit of a miss for me. Upon opening the bag it smelled strongly of vinegar. I saw some of the other ingredients including coffee but, I had a hard time tasting anything other than vinegar. If you love that flavor, this will be a huge hit for you.
The Naked Original Paleo Friendly Beef Jerky – Retail Value $7.50
Paleo dieters, keep an eye on this item. Clean eating is important to me. I’ve been on a long fitness journey and while I still indulge, I often want to eat healthier options so I feel less guilty when I do treat myself. This is the perfect snack to get protein in your diet but, also keep your carb count down and not worry too much about sugar. I definitely like the smoked flavor of the jerky. While the texture wasn’t my favorite, I thought the flavors were really nice.
Roy Rogers Filet MIgnon Jerky
This jerky was a huge hit for me. I loved the taste of the pepper and the soy sauce together. It also had a slightly sweet flavor to me which complimented the other spices. When I think of beef jerky, this is definitely the kind of thing I expect. The pieces were pretty chewy but, I always expect that when eating this kind of snack.
One-piece was the perfect size to snack on but, I found myself going back for more.
Divine Bovine Gourmet Beef Jerky (Original Flavor) – Retail Value $8.99
This jerky completely knocked my socks off and easily was my favorite one. The texture of it was so soft and the flavors were incredible. It was so difficult not to eat the entire bag in one sitting. I’m not sure if it was the lemon juice or what but, something about the way the flavors came together made it a heavenly experience. I will definitely be purchasing this again in the future!
Overall
Overall LOLJerky gets a huge thumbs up from me. All of the jerky products were unique in their own way, and it felt like a new experience opening up each package. I like how none of them felt the same and they all had different flavors, textures, and more. This is exactly what I would expect from a subscription so a) subscribers don’t get bored with repeats and b) get the sample new and different kinds of products. As mentioned previously it’s also a huge perk that the subscriptions can be individualized so a subscriber can receive several bags of jerky, or they can receive just one if that’s what their lifestyle calls for.
I definitely recommend this subscription for those who take snacking seriously (like myself) or who love jerky. It would also make a great gift for the upcoming holidays!
