The Meeting Point Sevilla subscription box offers a variety of different themed boxes and  I received The Alcazar Experience.  The welcome note informed me “The Real Alcazar of Seville is one of the oldest places left in use in the world today.  The Alacazar has been in constant use from the end of the 11th century and is still used by the Spanish royalty today.”  Needless to say, this box was packed full of items fit for royalty, including a playlist to enjoy while we indulged in the local food.  To get the most out of the box my family and I laid all the snacks out on the table and savored one at a time.

Miel Crema

This little jar of honey packed some major flavor.  We enjoyed it right out of the jar with a spoon, and also tried it on some toast.  This honey had a great texture that I still can’t place my finger on, however, I would compare it to that of the topping of a creme brulee dessert.

Tortas de Canela y Limon

This Torta came a broken, however, that didn’t compromise the amazing flavor.  I equate this to a large shortbread cookie with lemon and cinnamon frosting.  This was easily my favorite treat in the box.

Cortadillo de Cabello de Angel

I expected this to be the equivalent of an angel food cake, however, it was more of a crumble cake with a candied pumpkin filling.  I really enjoyed the texture of this dessert!

Nougat

There was no label so I’m unsure of what the product is in its entirety, however it tastes like a nougat.  It was very soft and chewy with a few pieces of what I believe to be chopped macadamia.  This was my son’s favorite item in the box.

Candied Kumquats

No one in my family has ever tried a Kumquat, so we were all excited to try these little-candied citruses.  It had a flavor similar to a cross between a lemon and an orange.  While none of us particularly cared for the flavor, we were all happy to have gotten the opportunity to try it.

Fig Bar

Again, there was nothing to indicate what this item was, however, the flavor and texture was a dead giveaway that this was a fig bar.  My husband and I loved this treat while my son didn’t care for it.

Te Brisas de Guadalquivir

I love tea, and the flavor of this loose leaf tea was one of the best I have ever had  I would buy this product over and over again.

Arabic Tile Coaster

This handmade coaster is beautiful.  My son was in awe of the intricate pattern.  This is the perfect coaster to use while I enjoy my afternoon tea at my desk.

Overall

I have mentioned time and time again that my favorite subscription boxes are ones that create an experience for myself and or my family to enjoy together.  This box was no exception.  I love to learn about new cultures and being able to introduce them to my son is even better.  There were items in the box that I would never have been able to experience otherwise. The only thing that would make this box more enjoyable would be either an information card or labels on all edible products that list ingredients.  Not only would that be helpful for people suffering from allergies, but it would also be nice to know the name and ingredients of what I’m eating.
