I’m pretty sure one of the biggest shocks for me when I became a mom was…that sometimes it would suck. Not in a way that I dislike being a parent, or that I don’t want to be one but, rather some days are truly just difficult. I never knew this tiny little person who makes my heart burst with love could also make me cry for a million different reasons. Happy, sad, thrilled, proud, nervous, anxious…you name it. All those emotions brought on by motherhood can make me cry at the drop of a hat.

That’s why I love the Mother Snacker boxes. The creator of this box, Leah, can not only relate to the many feelings of being a mom but, also wanted other moms to know that you’re not alone when it comes to feeling like being a mom is rough. Motherhood can be incredibly overwhelming no matter what age your kiddo is. Another thing that I love about this box is all the delicious and artisan snacks and relevant items curated just for moms. They are all items that we don’t have to feel guilty about not sharing with the rest of our family.

The box I am reviewing is the “Modern Mama Survival Kit“.

Included in the box were the items that were perfectly (at least in my opinion) curated for the mama in any stage of motherhood. All of the items can offer something different for each feeling and emotion a mom may be going through. Here’s what was inside:

Steeped Coffee – Driftwood Blend – Qty 3

Before I had my kiddo, coffee always was a must. Now that I have my daughter, it’s a “I cannot live without this invention” kind of thing. I remember holding a newborn, struggling to fill water into my Keurig, and make a cup of coffee a few weeks after a painful c-section. This coffee would have been an absolute life saver! All it needs is hot water and voila, your coffee is ready. It also tastes delicious and like a fresh brewed cup!

Disclaimer: No guarantees your coffee will remain hot. We all know that struggle 😉

Second Day Dry Shampoo Powder

If you can wash your hair daily or can live without dry shampoo, I believe you have magical powers.  My hair is thick, wavy, and coarse so I tend to only wash my hair a couple of times a week so I can cut back on styling it. When I had my daughter, forget styling it, let alone washing it enough. I lived off dry shampoo. I love the way this one makes my hair feel after using it and feel so refreshed and clean. It has no strong perfume smell so if that’s something that bothers you, I guarantee you will love this product. Also, this product is a Mother Snacker exclusive product! So cool!

Chuao Mini Chocolate Trio

My gosh – I swear I will have this chocolate on my mind for the rest of my life. It was so decadent and delicious. My favorite was the potato chip flavor. It had the perfect combination of salty mixed with sweet chocolate. I did enjoy the other flavors but, the potato chip was definitely the hit of the box for me.  The unique flavors made me feel like a luxurious treat to be enjoyed…by myself.

Encouraging Keepsake Cards

I find myself glancing at these cards nearly every day since I received the box.  And I absolutely love how each one is unique and encouraging in its very own way. As I am someone who loves quotes and finds poetry and strong words of affirmation to be encouraging, especially on a particularly hard day. My favorite, below, is displayed at my desk at work so I can constantly remind myself that it’s ok to be a hotmess sometimes. I have this notion in my mind that I have to be a perfect mom all the time because when I think of my own mom, she was perfect in my eyes. However, I know for a fact she had her own hotmess days. It’s okay to be both.

Overall Thoughts

I without a doubt, love this box so much. I love how it’s perfectly curated and has a variety of items within it. Each serves its own unique purpose and ties in nicely with the others. This is honestly a perfect gift for a new mom or a mom who may be struggling through a difficult time, or just needs to take more time for herself.

One thing I particularly love about Mother Snacker is she not only truly understands the need to keep your cup full since “you can’t pour from an empty cup” but, makes sure each item serves a purpose. Sometimes all we can get is 10-15 minutes to ourselves. As much as some of us would love to go out and have a fun night, I find myself often too exhausted to even fathom that idea. Having a tasty snack, or getting more dry shampoo as a way to take care of myself in a hard moment, means a lot to me.

Mother Snackers offers a great selection of perfectly curated boxes besides this one we reviewed. So whether you are looking for a one-time gift, or a reoccurring subscription for yourself or a special mom in your life, Mother Snacker has you covered.
