Having wine delivered on a monthly basis is something that I could get used to.  The Wine of the Month Club delivers high-quality wine right to my door.  And to top it off, they package it in a way to ensure it will arrive intact while also having the wines beautifully displayed upon opening the box.

The Wine of the Month Club includes a lot of helpful inserts too.  I particularly appreciated the pairings guides.  Since I’m still learning this adulting thing, I sometimes forget to think about what I’m pairing my wine with.  And when hosting holiday parties this season, these guides will be extremely useful for someone like me.

“21” – 2018 Rose

This was an excellent Rose. It reminded me of a summer-time which is nice since it’s going to be winter soon and I’m still reminiscing of those nice warm days. This wine is suggested to be paired with light meats such as chicken, or with a vegetarian meal. I can definitely see that since this is such a light taste of fruit, I couldn’t imagine pairing it with red meat or another kind of food. I would definitely purchase this again in the future!

Colonial Wine Co – 2015 Pinot Noir

While I love wine as much as the next person, I decided I wanted to gift a bottle to my boss.  I knew how much she enjoys a glass of Pinot, so this bottle went to her.  Although, after reading over the insert I’m curious how it tasted.  I might end up buying a bottle of this for me to try in the future.  Which brings up another great aspect of Wine of the Month…the member prices are fantastic.  This bottle would typically retail for $24, however, as long as I’m a subscriber I can order this one for only $17.48.  And when you find a wine you love, saving money on each bottle really accentuates the taste.

Pull – 2015 Chardonnay

I don’t think I can rave enough about this Chardonnay from Pull!  It feels like the perfect wine for Thanksgiving.  And it would have been too if I hadn’t forgotten to bring it with me to our family feast.  Although, that seemed to work out in my favor since I was able to enjoy it during a quiet night at home instead.  I really enjoyed the spiced apple flavor that seemed to linger after drinking each sip.  Considering the reorder price is under $10, I have a feeling I will be adding a few bottles to my Christmas list.

Abstruse – 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabs are a hard sell for me most of the time.  However, since I was cooking a juicy steak I figured this bottle would pair nicely with it for a delightful Sunday night treat.  Maybe it was the delicious dinner I prepared or the holiday spirit taking ahold of me…but I really enjoyed this wine.  It had just enough of a hint of vanilla.  While I normally don’t like the bitterness of cabernet, this one seemed just perfect for me.  I’m glad I found a cabernet that I can actually enjoy.

Overall

There are several things that I love about Wine of the Month Club.  The first one being the flexibility of the plans that they offer.  Not only can you choose red or white, and the number of bottles per shipment.  But you can also choose the price range of wines that you would like to receive.  I even noticed they have a membership for Sweet Wines, which if you know me would be right up my alley.  The next thing that I thought was unique, was their 100% price back guarantee.  If there is ever a wine you don’t like, you don’t pay for it.  While I didn’t need to use that service, I still thought it was an excellent feature that they offer.  Lastly, I loved the packaging and how it looked beautiful while also keeping the wines safe.  So overall, I count this subscription box as a win!
