About Stitch Fix
When you first sign up through Stitch Fix, you are given a styling profile to fill out for yourself. This helps your stylist pick out items that fit your needs, but also your personality and budget. There are even examples of outfits that you can rate so your stylist really understands your fashion. You can also choose how often you would like to receive boxes. One thing to note, when you are a new member, they will send extra items in the first few boxes. This is so they can ensure that they are giving you plenty of options while they get to know your style.

May 2019 Box Contents
I really like that Stitch Fix includes styling cards since I am not good at creating new looks. I tend to wear the same type of outfits and simply change out tops here and there. The included guides gave me some insight on things I could change up in my wardrobe. Also, the note from my stylist was really sweet and showed that she took the time to read my profile before choosing my items.
I love that they give 25% off if you keep everything in the box. That being said, with so many items in this first couple of boxes, I pretty much knew right away I wasn’t going to be able to keep everything. I couldn’t justify spending that amount of money on new clothes for myself at this point. I am looking forward to the standard size boxes so I can take advantage of the savings.
Mix By 41 Hawthorn, Corinna Brushed – $38
This just isn’t my style. The fabric was very soft and light and the colors, or lack thereof, is perfect. However, the style reminds me of something I would have worn in my early 20’s and seems a bit too young for me now. The fit wasn’t great on my stomach either so I decided to pass on this.
FrenchMauve, Melanie Knit Tunic Blazer – $88
I have been really wanting to add a more professional look to my closet and thought that a blazer would be amazing. This, however, is the blazer that I have been looking for. The fit wasn’t right on my body. I will send this one back to Stitch Fix and keep my eyes open for the perfect blazer for me!
Vince Camuto, Merra Pleated Shoulder – $58
I liked this blouse so much that I already have four that are almost identical, two of which are still unworn. I decided to send this back since I already have an amazing stockpile of this fit and color in my closet.
PINK CLOVER, Poplar Crowl Neck Knit Tip – $44
I loved this crowl neck top, however, the fit wasn’t right for me. It was perfect in the sleeves and chest but about two sizes big in the stomach which is the opposite issue that I’m used to having with this type of shirt. I wanted to love it since the fabric was so soft and the tones were perfect for me. If I were paying the $20 styling fee, this is the item I would have chosen to keep and I would have just worn it around the house.
1822 Denim, Berlin Distressed Girlfriend Jeans – $48
These jeans were nice and fit well. The quality wasn’t what I would expect for the price though. I like my jeans a little less stiff so I decided to send these back.
Papermoon, Wendilyn Knit Maxi Dress – $48
This dress is really cute and perfect for summer…if you are a person that likes to wear dresses. I am not that person. I really only wear dresses at formal events so have no need for a maxi dress in my closet. I did still try it on to see if my tastes have changed since last summer, and they haven’t. Maxi dresses are hard for me anyway since they tend to me so long on my shorter frame.
Love Ellie, Ailisa Open Cardigan – $38
I live in cardigans so always get excited to see one in my Stich Fix boxes. Right off the bat, I didn’t like the color of this one, I tried it on anyways since part of the fun of Stich Fix is finding items that I wouldn’t pick for myself. Once I tried it on the color didn’t bother me, the fit did though. It was extremely long on my 5-foot 4-inch frame and I knew I would never wear it. If this cardigan had been about eight inches shorter I would have kept it for sure. The quality was very nice and soft.
Report, Lindsay Laser Cut Sandal – $45
I was so excited to get these in my fix this month. They are the perfect sandal to wear all summer long! My excitement was short lived though since they didn’t fit. I have pretty wide feet so finding shoes that fit me can be a challenge. I was tempted to still buy these anyway because they were that cute!
Overall thoughtsÂ
This is my third Fix and I feel like we have now gotten away from my style. I didn’t end up keeping anything in this month’s box and the only thing I was tempted to keep were the sandals. I’m hoping we can get back on track with my next scheduled fix in July since I really do need to update my closet. I am grateful that returns are free and I was able to send all items back with no charge. However, this is where I want to point out that normally there is a $20 styling fee that would be paid. In exchange for this review, I have my styling fees waived for 2019 so I can share what Stitch Fix is all about with our readers. If it wasn’t waived, I would have ended up picking one of the items to keep so I didn’t waste the $20.
