All The Feels – Summer 2020

With a theme like All The Feels, I expected the Strong Self(ie) box to be filled with items to help me vibe all summer long.  The included insert gave me a rundown of what was in this season’s box and described how each item ties into the four corners of the Strong Self(ie) box.  The insert shows that they offer two different versions of their box and what items came in each version.  I received the Bloom Box which is for age ranges 8-12.  Yes, I realize I’m much older than the suggested age range.  I do have nieces in this range though, so I have a pretty good idea of what products they would love.  Also included in the box were two mantra cards and two stickers.  I will be putting these around the house this month to enjoy.

Beach Towel >> Beaut(ie) – Estimated Retail Value: $19.00

This beach towel is huge!  However, the lightweight fabric makes it easy to throw into a backpack for a summer adventure.  It was a nice touch to include the “All The Feels” theme to the towel too.  I think this will be my new favorite summer towel.  The colors, the fabric, and the design are all perfection.  And after all these years reviewing subscription boxes, I can say this is the first time I have gotten a beach towel.

Temporary Tattoos >> Beaut(ie) – Retail Value: $12.99

As an adult, I wasn’t super impressed by these temporary tattoos.  I needed to remind myself that this box is targeted towards a younger subscriber.  And it didn’t take long until my 6-year-old son snagged the tattoos and asked to use the alien one!  Overall, the quality was better than I’m used too, and they seemed to stay on forever!

Bracelet Kit >> Funn(ie) – Retail Value: $3.99

Looking back on summer as a kid, I fondly remember sitting with friends making bracelets together.  Noting as cool as this kit would make though.  As a parent, I love that an activity was included in the box.  During the summer, especially this year, having a craft to give my kid to work on takes the load off me for a few minutes.  This is a craft that I would gladly sit with my son and complete.  Although, I have a niece that I’m sure will love this product, so I ended up setting it aside for her.

Happy Snaps >> Health(ie) – Retail Value: $4.99

A subscription box doesn’t feel complete without a snack.  I was excited to see something healthy in the Strong Self(ie) box.  These berry oat crisps are surprisingly delicious too.  If you have eaten a rice cake before, it tastes very similar but with a little more air in them.  I liked the berry flavor, while it wasn’t overly sweet it still gave me a feeling that I was having a treat.  These are a treat I would buy again.

Stainless Steel Water Bottle >> Health(ie) – Estimated Retail Value: $20.00

This water bottle was my favorite item in the box.  From the fun, ombre design to the straw flip top it is the perfect water bottle to keep me hydrated all summer long.  I have been using it daily since the box came in.  Ice stays solid in the stainless steel bottle for hours, even in the sun.  Products that help me reduce my plastic use are a huge plus in my eyes.  It is important that I lead by example and show my son that we don’t need to have plastic bottles laying everywhere to stay hydrated.  And low and behold, after I started using this bottle, he quickly took his out of the cabinet and started using it as well.

Pineapple Bandage >>Health(ie) – Retail Value: $6.00

I wasn’t expecting to see bandages in this box.  However, these cute pineapple ones would be a hit with my nieces.  I didn’t plan on using them so I could gift, but I ended up cutting my finger the night after opening the box.  As “luck” would have it they were on the counter at the time.  The coverage area is pretty small, however so was my cut.  While it looked much more adorable it didn’t last long.  Within thirty minutes the bandage was peeling off.  These seem to be more of a novelty item than something I will be adding to the first aid kit.

SoftMelts >>Health(ie) – Bonus Sample Item

These gummy vitamins were a bonus item in this season’s box.  My son and I tried them one morning and we both thought they were pretty good.  I thought it was neat to get a sample and also a little information on the company.

Overall

If you are looking solely at the price of products versus the price of the box, then you can see the price point is spot on.  While the value is important, for me I see this box as a gift to a young girl.  And I can say without hesitation that the overall box would make an incredible gift!  The message the box gives to the subscriber is amazing.  Being a young girl is hard, especially in this day and age.  And this box teaches them that there are different aspects of life that can be nurtured.  Being healthy is important, but can also be fun!  Being beautiful is as simple as being yourself.  Those messages are so important for their young minds to hear and this box brings it to their doorstep on a seasonal basis.
