First off, I just wanted to apologize for the delay in posting this review! It’s certainly some crazy times out there and we hope you are all staying safe and social distancing at the moment.

That being said – let’s take a peek into what TheraBox’s February 2020 month looked like!

This month’s theme is ‘Self Indulge’ which I find myself forgetting to do this on occasion. It’s not that I don’t think I deserve it or anything, it’s just with my daily grind keeping me so busy, it’s often something I forget to do. I try to remind myself to let myself have treats here and there. As the old saying goes, “You Can’t Pour From an Empty Cup” – so the more I don’t allow myself to take a few steps back, the more I find myself feeling tired and rundown.

I, unfortunately (like many people, so don’t feel you are alone!) suffer from anxiety. I’ve been anxious pretty much my entire life but, I also have panic attacks so those can be pretty debilitating sometimes. One of the reasons I really wanted to try out TheraBox was it’s focused on living a happier and more positive life. When I have my anxiety in check, I know my life is much more fulfilling, so this box was very much needed.

As you can see from above, this box packs some awesome products into it! Let’s look at each of them.

Aromatherapy Body Cleaner, Aminnah Skincare – Retail Value $24.99

I know I’ve used aromatherapy body cleansers in the past but, this one is absolutely delightful. The scents all work so well together. I don’t really enjoy many floral scents but, I’m a huge fan of lavender so this cleanser really was a win for me. The actual ingredients listed are Geranium + Rosewood and Bergamot + Lavender. I love the way my skin feels after using this in my shower and I can definitely picture myself repurchasing this in the future. (Use code RISE15 for 15% off!)

Eyes Eyes Baby, Fleur & Bee – Retail Value $22

As the description in the pamphlet says “Your eyes are everything. The windows to the soul, the way you see the world…” and this could not be more true. I’m a little embarrassed to say how late  I am to the skincare game. I have always been diligent about washing my face at night but, I never really put much effort into adding in additional products to my skincare routine up until recently. This product was very much welcomed since I just finished using up my eye cream a few weeks ago. I’m extremely self-conscious of my dark circle and the lines under my eyes. I wear makeup almost every day so I can do a somewhat decent job of hiding them but, that being said, I still want to take care of those problem areas. This formula contains a bunch of important ingredients such as Squalane,  Vitamin B3&E, Caffeine and more to help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I’ve only used this for about a week or so now and while I can’t tell a major difference, I’m at least happy with myself for taking care of my skin a little better. I plan to continue using this. It’s also 100% vegan. (Use discount code TEN for $10 off your first purchase)

Deep Cleansing Scalp & Hair Scrub (Pear Blossom), Zion Health – Retail Value $19.99

So you know the feeling when you go to the hair salon and someone else massages your scalp during a shampoo session? That’s what this is like! And if you’re like me and you love that feeling, then trust me when I say, this is product is so worth it! This is recommended to be used 1-2 x a week to help keep your hair and scalp healthy. The smell of it is also so amazing. This product was such a delight to use over the past few weeks. I think it really helped with the dry flakes I, unfortunately, deal with in the winter. I also only wash my hair 2 x a week so this helped to remove all the build-up of dry shampoo and product in my hair. (Use code HAIRSCRUB for 20% off any hair scrubs)

Dr. Pedicure Lavendar Peeling Mask, Grace & Stella – Retail Value $19.95

Unfortunately, I have not been able to use this product yet. I love the way my feet feel after getting a foot peel during a pedicure at the salon so I have very high hopes for this product! I don’t get pedicures regularly due to my own feelings of others touching my feet. This brand is really amazing too. I’m currently use Grace & Stella’s Rose Spray, and absolutely love it, so I’m quite certain I’ll enjoy this as well. (Use code THERABOX for 15% off).

10+ Free Coral Floral Nail Polish, 10 Free Chemistry – Retail Value $18.00

I decided to gift this product to Abby. She paints her nails much more often than I do and I already have plenty of nail polish. I absolutely love the bright coral color. It reminds me of springtime which right now, is putting me in a good mood. The formula for this product is a proprietary blend of plant extracts, vegetable-derived actives and blends, peptides, minerals, humectants, and other clean ingredients. I will say the sticker price was a little bit much for me. I understand with it containing better and higher-quality ingredients, this is why but, it was still a little shocking to me. Maybe because I don’t paint my nails very often. I can’t really picture myself spending this much on nail polish. However, I was happy this was in the box so I could brighten someone’s day with it! Toe Talk, Mantra Grip Socks – Retail Value $12.00

This definitely isn’t new news but, I love receiving socks in a subscription box! I feel like I never buy myself any fun or cool socks so I appreciate receiving them when I do. These adorable socks are made up of bamboo which is really awesome. It’s not only greener for the earth but, they feel so soft and lightweight! I love the pattern for the no-slip grip on the bottom. I mean how cute are those little flowers? These socks really bring a smile to my face and they’re a great addition for the box. You should definitely check out their shop since they have a lot of other cute designs. (Use code THERABOX for FREE shipping)

Hydrational Happy Face Mist, Manna Kadar Beauty – Retail Value $15.00

Face/setting sprays are a huge win in my book. I use one whenever I do my makeup, and I like having one in my purse to spritz my face randomly during the day.  having combination skin, so I have some dry areas that I’m pretty self-conscious about. Products like this really help keep them at bay and keep my makeup from appearing cakey. This can also double as a primer for makeup application. I love that it has such clean ingredients so I can feel good about using this product on a regular basis. The smell is also very pleasant! It also keeps that nice luminous look that I’m a fan of.  Unfortunately, it appears they are currently sold out of this spray on the website. Manna Kadar Beauty has many other natural makeup products so go check them out! (Use code THERA20 for 20% off)

This Month’s Happiness Boosting Activity:

This month brought us some Daily Affirmation Cards. I never really understood the importance of daily affirmations until I went through some tough mental health issues a few years ago. I found myself stuck in a negativity rut. It felt like anything I did wasn’t helping. However, after working with a mental health professional, she had me start writing down and repeating to myself one affirmation a day. At first, I didn’t think it would work but, within a few days, I found myself actually feeling a glimmer of positivity. As time went on, I found myself in a better mood more often.

That’s why I was really happy to see these beautiful cards in the box! Even if the positivity is temporary while you’re going through something difficult in life, for a few moments, it’s really important to remind yourself that you are enough, you are important, and that eventually, everything will get better. I know this sounds very cheesy and cliche, but, as someone who immensely struggled (and still struggle with) with a mental health issue, this was a small thing I could be in control of that really did help me during a very low part of my life.

These cards (Retail Value $18.99) are made by My TheraBox and can be purchased here.

Overall Thoughts

If we add up the total of all the products mentioned in the box, this brings the box retail value to $150.92. That’s an incredible amount of value packed into February’s box!  Overall, this box was a huge win for me. It’s subtle items that one can give to themselves that can make a world of difference. The affirmation cards by TheraBox were something I didn’t realize I could benefit from again until I made time every day to say something positive about myself. The theme of this box was very nicely done and it felt very cohesive and flowed well together.  I’m also a huge advocate for mental health. I am happy to share my story with anyone who asks, and I also like to remind others that they are not alone, even if they feel they are.
