Website Description: “Based on a lifetime of practicing traditional and herbal medicine, Tieraona Low Dog, MD founded Wildcrafter Botanicals to take coffee to the next level by infusing it with botanicals. The result is four thoughtfully crafted coffee blends that turn everyday rituals into extraordinary moments.

At Wildcrafter, our mission and work are infused with intention. We started by sourcing our coffee from women and community-owned coffee cooperatives in Colombia. Our sourcing practices ensure that our coffee is Fair Trade and our blends are certified organic. We are uncompromising when it comes to ensuring the integrity of our products and the transparency of our labels. That’s the standard we have chosen for our company to strive for every day.

When it comes to sourcing the herbs for Wildcrafter botanically infused organic coffee, nature has already done the work—we just put it into your coffee. That’s why every single batch of herbs is independently tested for identity (e.g., genus and species) to ensure the right plants make it into your pantry. But we don’t stop there. Wildcrafter also tests every batch for heavy metals, harmful microbes, and more than 300 different pesticides/herbicides. It’s the only way to guarantee you get the high-quality coffee and benefits you deserve. We never ship a box or bag of coffee until it’s perfect, so you can feel good about every sip.”

I am a huge coffee lover so when the opportunity to review some presents itself, I don’t need to think twice.  Before the box showed up on my steps, I did a bit of research on Wildcrafter Botanicals to see what they were all about.  I found that they offer organic, fair trade, botanically infused coffee blends tailored to the needs of their customers.  With four blends to choose from, I was excited to see which ones they would send for review.  As I unboxed the package, I was pumped to see that they not only included a pound of each of their blends, but also a cute mug, and a book written by the founder of the company!  Needless to say, I was blown away by the contents and was ready to start some coffee tasting.

Creative Genius

The first blend I tried was Creative Genius.  At this point, with everything going on in the world, I need all the focus I can get.  It never crossed my mind that there may be a coffee that could help me with improving focus.  Creative Genius is infused with Bacopa Herb and Ashwagandha Root which I’ve read help not only with focus, but also memory, and can help with stress and anxiety.  After three mornings drinking this blend, I have felt like I did have increased focus.  However, I’m not sure if that is partly because school is out now, which gives me one less thing on my plate.  From what I understand, both herbs can take two (or more weeks) to provide your body with the full effect.  I will continue to drink this blend and see how I feel in the coming weeks.

Spiritual Chill

Typically, I’m not one to drink decaf coffee.  Since I equate coffee with energy, decaf always seemed counterproductive.   However, I can always use some spiritual chill in my life so I figured this blend may be just what I need to relax after a stressful day.  Long story short, I will be adding this coffee to my nightly routine.  I felt extremely relaxed and really enjoyed the quiet comfort that comes from sitting with a cup of coffee.  The overall taste is milder than the other flavors in our box but still had a wonderfully smooth finish.

Inner Warrior

Let’s be honest, I drink coffee for the energy boost to get me through the day.  Typically I will drink a cup in the morning and possibly one in the afternoon if I start to get sluggish again.  When I noticed this flavor labeled for energy, I wondered if one cup would be enough for a full day.  I was a bit skeptical about how it would taste since it has mushroom in it.  However, my apprehension was for nothing, the coffee tasted amazing.  It is a nice bold roast, with a very smooth finish.  I couldn’t even taste mushroom.  Overall, I did notice a nice boost of energy and one cup was more than enough to get me through my day.  This was my favorite blend and will be stocked in my pantry in the coming months.

Immune Shield

I decided that this would be a perfect blend to bring into the office break room for others to enjoy.  Since I have only been heading to the office about once a month, my immune system hasn’t had much to defend.  However, I knew the essential workers that are still coming in every day would appreciate the beneficial treat.  I hope they loved it as much as I love the other blends in this review.

Bonus Goodies

Included in our box were two fun extras.  The adorable coffee mug is now my go-to cup for my morning coffee.  I love its natural colors and thick ceramic.  The book that was included was written by the founder of Wildcrafter Botanicals.  While this isn’t a book I would sit and read cover to cover over a weekend.  It is extremely handy to have when I’m examining possible vitamins and minerals to include in my daily life.  To be honest, this book couldn’t have come at a better time.  I’ve been dealing with some health issues and my Doctor and I have been trying to use vitamins to give me some relief.  I was able to look up all the recommendations in this book and feel much more comfortable with what I will be adding to my daily routine. Being knowledgeable about why each vitamin will help me, makes me less nervous to head down this road.

Overall

The coffee from Wildcrafter Botanicals is phenomenal.  The overall taste of each blend is bold yet still smooth.  And the fact that I’m able to give my body some extra love is a bonus.  They have used science to make drinking their coffee a no brainer and I’m here for it!  To top it off they source from women and community-owned coffee cooperatives and are Fair Trade.  The price is a bit more than I’m used to paying for coffee, however, by subscribing I can get the price down a little bit and also have one less thing to remember to buy.  I will be stocking my pantry with their coffee from here on out.
