Last month we reviewed a box from Wine of the Month Club which contained four bottles and wine. And although I do like to drink wine, especially during gatherings, I almost felt like four bottles were too many for my needs each month. So I was excited to try out their subscription of two wines. I feel like this size box would be the perfect membership level for me.
Once again, Wine of the Month Club included some great inserts that really show how much thought they put into curating each box. I also noticed the included recipes which I thought was a nice touch.

Metamorphosis – 2012 Merlot
First off, my picture doesn’t do this bottle justice. I have to say that I fully intended to take a beautiful picture of the pour wine in a fancy glass. However, it is the holidays and this wine is so good it made me forget about all the chaos. And by forget I mean I also forgot to take a picture for all of you to enjoy. But I think I actually did you a huge favor since you really need to see, smell, and taste this wine to get the full effect. And with a price point of only $12.98 on Wine of the Month, you can’t really say I’m wrong here. If I could describe this wine in one word it would be smooth.
Gravelly Ford – 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is always a hit for me, and this was no exception. While I did not drink this with a meal, I picture this wine being served with a nice steak or lobster dinner. I thought all the flavors complimented each other really well, especially the vanilla with the cherry. There was also a bit of spiciness to the flavor, but, in a very good way. There was also one particular flavor I couldn’t put my finger on that made it really good as well. When I was doing having a glass of this, I reread the flavor palette and recalled that it had an oak flavor to it. I think that may have been it. Overall, this was another exceptional wine, and it was perfect for the month of December to enjoy on a cold day inside my house.

The subscribers get to choose red or white wine and the number of bottles per shipment. You can also choose the price range of wines that you would like to receive. Lastly, Wine of the Month offers a 100% price back guarantee. If there is ever a wine you don’t like, you don’t pay for it. While I didn’t need to use that service, I still thought it was an excellent feature that they offer. With all this flexibility and convenience….I’m not sure how you could NOT sign up for this subscription!
