I absolutely love the design and the theme of this box.  The artwork is so bright and vivid that I couldn’t help but be excited for our date night.  If you read my June 2018 review for Crated With Love then you know we don’t get to date very much.  We take the time to watch some of our favorite shows and have movie nights, but that really isn’t the same as connecting one on one.  Crated with Love has made it easy for us to set aside the time to date each other without the hassle of having to find a sitter.

Safari Skills Card

The image below is just the back of the card since I don’t want to spoil all the fun for subscribers that haven’t gotten their box yet!   I really enjoyed this first activity.  One of the questions on the front was “How many days have you been together” so we had to pull out our phone to look at our calendars to check that and were amazed to see it is over 5000 days, which seems like forever.  Everything on this card got us talking and really reminiscing on our relationship and thinking about 2019 and what a great year it will be for our family.

Lion, Tigers, and Bears Game

We are all about competition, so games are always perfect for us.   The included game was pretty fun, the only part we didn’t like was that all of the purple cards had us “search Google” and find a given image that matched our partner.  To us, while it was a little entertaining to see (for example) what jungle fruit my husband would compare me to, we felt that it was counterproductive since one of the “issues” we have in our relationship is being on our phones when we should be connecting with each other.  We both made sure we did these actions quickly since we agreed it took away from our date.  Other than that, this game had us laughing quite a bit.

Wooden Tiles

This was the only part of the date that my husband didn’t want to do.   We may have been drinking wine while completing the first parts of the date and by this point, he thought the directions were too complicated.  So, we decided to keep these with the box and complete the next time we break out this month’s Crated With Love.  We do save the boxes that can be reused and end up completing at least some of the activities more than once.

Goals Journal

This was my husband’s favorite part of the box, he was great at coming up with goals and I was surprised to see his level of involvement with this journal.  We came up with some goals that we are excited about achieving together in 2019.  I like that this journal will help keep us on track all year since there is a place to check in each month and note how we are doing on each goal.

Sloth Pin

I was stoked about playing with this pin.  Our booklet told us to take turns hiding it around the house, over the course of the month.  When the other person found it they were supposed to stop what they are doing and get a kiss and then hide it again.  While my husband thought it was super cheesy I thought it was cute and we tried it out for a few days.  We had fun with it and even my son started looking for it too which was pretty cute.

Butterfly

This was another one of my favorite parts in the box.  After answering the questions you insert your answers into the “story” of the butterfly.  Ours ended up being hilarious and we laughed for a few minutes about it.

2019 Badge Collector and “Two Can Toucan” Badge

Included in our box was a badge collector as well as our badge for this box.  I thought it was a cool way to display all the badges you get throughout the year.  It’s neat that there was a spot to write your favorite part and also something cool to hold onto.

Overall

I really can’t say enough good things about Crated with Love.  For a box to swoop in each month and pump life into our relationship is really priceless to us.  After more than 5000 days together we get into ruts, we get caught up in errands, work, and parenthood.  We tend to lose sight of our marriage at times.  For $19.99 a month it is well worth it to be reminded to slow down and enjoy each other.   And the fact that we can date while our son is in bed for the night, no sitter needed, that is great.
