This Month’s theme was “Road Trippin’” which I thought was cute and perfect for summer. I just went on my own road trip last month with my family and had an amazing time so I love how they tied that in.

Fuego Eyeshadow Palette – Crown Brush

Retail Value: $29.99

I was a tad disappointed when I first opened my box and saw this palette. Not because I don’t like palettes but, because I was really hoping I would receive the Tarte Radiant Setting Spray, and I truthfully don’t need another palette. The colors on this one are very nice, pigmented, bold, and beautiful but, I have so many colors that are similar to this, that I wasn’t overwhelmed or impressed. I also apologize for the dark smudges, as this is how I received the item and the more I tried to clean it up, the worse it looked so I decided not to mess with it! There is six matte colors and 4 glitter/shimmery colors so you I plan to have fun with it anyway and create some beautiful looks. This palette is perfect if you’re trying to recreate a warm look, and I think I’ll come around more to this one when it’s fall out and I can be creative with my look.

Blush in Desert Rose – NOTE Cosemetics

Retail Value $11.99

At first glance, I thought this was a nice colored blush and I have not used any products from NOTE before, so I was happy to receive an item I normally wouldn’t buy.  Once I put the color on my cheeks, I felt it wasn’t a good look for me. It’s a bit dark and not a good match for my skin tone. I also caution everyone to be careful on how much you use. I thought I did not put that much on my brush but, unfortunately, I got too much product on it and it looked a mess the first time I used it. If you open the bottom of the container they give you a cute little brush which I thought was a nice touch even though I prefer to use my own brushes.  I would even go as far as to say you should use a better blush brush for blending but if you forget one, and you’re on the go, at least you have a backup plan! The formula is very bright and pigmented so I have a feeling it will last all day. I plan to check out what other colors they have so I can try some different ones since this is a very reasonably priced product.

Eyebrow Cream – Chella (color taupe)

Retail Value: $26

I’ll be one hundred percent transparent and put out there that I am no expert at eyebrows. Despite many hours watching tutorials on YouTube, I still haven’t mastered this art at all. However, this product is so great for those who are like me – not that great at using eyebrow products, or if you’re a beginner. You take a little bit of product (my only ‘expert’ advice I can give is use LESS and trust me on this- than you think you need. You can always add more product) on the brush, and can quickly tame, shape, and perfect your perfect brow look. It only took me about 3 minutes to use this, which is perfect for most mornings when I don’t have a ton of time to do my eyebrows. I was also thrilled that this color matched my eyebrows so I could receive the full experience of this product. I will definitely purchase this in the future!

No More Baggage, eye depuffing gel – Dr. Brandt

Retail Value: $42

Dr. Brandt is such a good brand and always love to see their products in boxes. I don’t know however if this is a product that’s meant for me. I don’t really get puffy eyes, fortunately, unless I’m sick or have bad allergies. I decided to give this a try anyway and see what my thoughts were. I liked how the gel felt against my skin, as it gives a nice cool feeling. I did feel like the skin tightened underneath my eyes but, I have only used it twice now, so I can’t say if the results are magic or that noticeable. I plan to use it as long as I have the product but, due to the price, and that it’s not something I truly need, I won’t be purchasing.

Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara – Wander Beauty

Retail Value: $24

I was beyond excited to see this beauty in the box this month. I love trying new mascaras and receiving them because even if I go for a more “natural” look, I tend to still always wear mascara. The wand is curved to help aid in curling and giving your lashes a nice volume look. I loved how I did not get any clumps and my lashes did look bold and longer. I did have to apply a couple of coats, but, I tend to do that anyway so this didn’t bother me at all.  I am not sure if I will purchase this product only because it reminds me of similar ones I have that are cheaper but, I still was really happy to receive this product.

BoxyCharm also had some amazing coupons for us all to take advantage of:

20% off your next purchase at Wander Beauty

Use Code: WANDERCHARM07

Offer ends 8/18/18. Please check the website and or additional fine print as exclusions may apply.

15% off your next purchase at Farmacy Beauty

Use Code: CHARM20

Offer ends 9/15/18. Please check the website and or additional fine print as exclusions may apply.

Overall, this month was not my favorite but, not every month can be, and I don’t really expect them to hit out of the park every time. Everyone has different beauty items they like, and while I did not love every product, I still consider this box a win because the two products I did really like (Wander Beauty’s mascara and the eyebrow cream by Chella) ended up being a $48 value, and I paid $21 for this entire box. How amazing is that? I’m already excited for next month’s box so I highly, highly, recommend you give this subscription box a try if you’re a makeup lover like myself.
