Bulu Box – Regular Subscription

Living a healthy lifestyle is pretty important to me. I’m not in the best shape of my life but, I still find ways that I can be healthy and take care of myself. That’s why I knew Bulu Box would be an amazing box to receive. We were fortunate to have two Bulu Box subscriptions sent to us in the mail. The first box (pictured above) is the regular Bulu Box. It contains a variety of health products, vitamins, etc. The box pictured below is the weight loss box. This contains more products aimed at losing weight or maintaining weight loss.

Bulu Box – Weight Loss Subscription

I will first be going over and reviewing the regular Bulu Box.

This was the insert I received in both of the subscription boxes. While it did not break down every product that I received in the box, it gave me a website to go to where I could find nutritional information and other information about the products.

Also included in the regular box was the above inserts. This contained information on some of the samples that were included in the box. I had not heard of either of these products so I was excited to see these inserts. The back of the cards had some coupons I could cash in on if I wanted to purchase more of them if I liked the product.

Osmo Nutrition Active Hydration – Retail Value $1.75 (one sample) Full Price $35.00

This tasted just like Gatorade to me but, I liked the individual sample it came in. It was much easier to pack around with my water bottle (since I already had one with me) then to grab another bottle to throw in my gym bag. To be honest, I don’t drink a lot of sports drinks due to their high sugar content. When I work out I prefer just to have water but, I do like to have one after a long cycle workout to help with cramping and electrolyte loss. I also felt there wasn’t as much sugar in this as normal sports drinks so that was a huge plus for me.

Prospera Supplements  Recovery Sleep Aid  – Retail Value $3.39 (6 caplets) Full-Size Value $33.99

According to their website “Prospera Recovery is a high absorption Magnesium formula with 5 synergistic ingredients, that will help soothe your muscles, relax and let your body get the rest it needs” I used to take Magnesium on a daily basis when I suffered from migraines, so I thought these would be a good supplement to add into my diet. I’m not entirely sure if these helped me sleep better but, knowing I was getting the full effect of the vitamins is always a good thing. I also think they’re very reasonably priced which isn’t always the case for these types of supplements.

Green Med PartyRite – Retail Value $2.50 (1 package) or buy 10 for $22.95

I’ve tried similar “hangover cure” products in the past, and I have to say, those ones did seem to help a bit after a full night of ‘fun’. I haven’t had a night out in a while to use this as a hangover product though – so I can’t attest to whether or not it works in that sense, but, based on the ingredients, it looks like all good stuff. I also will add that I’ve heard many people use products just like this and swear by it since it’s a boost of vitamins after putting a bunch of alcohol in your system. I will save this for the next time I go out with friends.

Cover Three Nutritional Brain Defense – Retail Value $6.67 (1 sample) Buy 6 for $39.99

I found this product to be pretty interesting. Brain injuries are extremely serious, and any product that can help with those kinds of traumas would be very beneficial, especially to athletes. However, not being a doctor, I cannot tell if this product is as true as it states it is. If you don’t know what CTE is, it stands for “…Chronic traumatic encephalopathy,  a neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated head injuries” (Wikipedia) In my own (and non-medical opinion) I don’t really believe something like this can prevent this disease but, again, I am not a doctor. I cannot, unfortunately, eat/drink anything that has an artificial orange taste but, I am willing to bet that this at least contains some good vitamins to help the body out. It also has amazing reviews on Amazon!

McLaren Medical D3 Vitamin – Retail Value $7.50

If you live where Abby and I live (The Pacific Northwest) then you more than likely need a Vitamin D supplement. We don’t get enough sunshine in this area to get Vitamin D from the sun. However, even if you do live in a sunny area and are exposed to the sun on an almost daily basis, it’s always good to get your Vitamin D levels checked. I didn’t realize before having mine checked just how low I was and how that was actually causing some health issues for me. I was really happy to see this in the box since it reminded me it had been a few weeks since I’ve taken some and now I’m back on my regimen!

Swat Fuel 9mm+P Endurance Formula – Retail Value $1.33 (2 caplets) or Full Price $33.95

This is supposed to be the holy grail of workout products/supplements. There’s added energy for pre-workout as well as fat-burning solutions in the caplets to help with weight loss. There’s also supposed to be “no crash” after taking these which I can attest to. I did not have any kind of crash and I did feel like it properly fueled my workout which is always a really good thing. I might have to purchase these in the future!

Mason Natural Collagen Beauty Cream (Pear Scent) – Full Price Value $14.46

I absolutely loved this product. I felt that it made my hands and skin feel so soft and smooth. I don’t know if the small amount we received really helped make me more youthful but, overall I liked the scent and the way my skin felt. I know collagen has a lot of hidden benefits for skin and nails, so I plan to purchase some of this in the future to see if it does help give me that youthful appearance I miss!

Please note, we also received this in the weight loss box, but, I will only be reviewing it here.

I will now be moving on to the weight loss box to review those products.

N53 Lean 1 Burn Extreme – Retail Value $.99 (2 caplets) Full size value $29.95

This product claims that is a “…specialized blend of raspberry ketones, garcinia cambogia and potent thermogenic ignites hard-to-lose fat stores, like belly fat and love handles while helping you feel satisfied between meals.* Key nutrients help you get energized for higher intensity workouts that mobilize & combust unwanted body fat as fuel.* Ingredients in BURN1 burn fat quickly, stimulate energy, stokes metabolism, boost workout intensity, improve thermogenesis, and curb hunger cravings.” I had a bad experience with a similar product like this in the past (it had the same kind of ingredients) so I was honestly too hesitant to try this. When I tried something like this last time I felt like my heart was racing, I had the shakes and was extremely sweaty. It could have been from all the caffeine and the fact that I also sometimes suffer from anxiety. I plan to give this to someone who may not be so sensitive to the ingredients.

N53 Cleanse 1 Healthy Detoxifying Formula – Retail Value $1.42  (12 capsules) Full Size $29.97

I’m always a little nervous to try any kind of cleanse. I tend to have somewhat of a sensitive stomach so I don’t want to take something and potentially be sick all day. While this is only a sample pack, the full-size product is set up for a 7 day cleanse. According to the website “…Cleanse1 was created to help eliminate toxins and prepare your body for long-term health benefits. Our proprietary Cleanse1 formula is made up of a variety of herbs to help promote colon and digestive health.” I decided to try this out anyway, and I actually didn’t feel too bad on it. I don’t think it promoted any long term weight loss since I more than likely only lost water weight but, I could see using a product like this prior to going on vacation or for a special event, just to feel your best.

Alfa Vitamins Garcinia Cambogia Plus – Retail Value $1.59 (2 sample packs) Full Size $23.99

The main benefits of this product are to promote metabolism, reduce appetite, support diet plans, and weight control. Now, I’m not sure if it was the placebo effect but, I actually did feel less hungry while I took these 2 samples. The pineapple flavor was also not bad in my opinion and I did not mind drinking it. I also liked that it contained Vitamin C which is another important daily vitamin to have in our diets. I think I might have to purchase this again in the future.

Growing Roots – Organic Coconut & Seed Bites (Pina Colada) + Organic Corn & Seed Bites (Maple Burbon) – Full Size Value $15.63

Well,  it might be sad when your favorite part of a weight loss box is food but, hey, no shame in my game. I enjoyed the maple bourbon flavor a lot more than the pina colada but, both were really great snacks. I liked the crunchiness and it satisfied my craving without having to eat an unhealthy snack. I find them to be a little expensive but, they also support urban farms, so I don’t mind paying a little bit more to go towards a great cause.

Overall Thoughts

Overall I thought both of these boxes contained some really great products. The regular subscription box I think did a great job of showcasing the variety that a subscriber could receive, and the weight loss box had a good amount of actual weight loss products, which is all someone could ask for when they subscribe to a certain box. I also like that for only $10 a month, you can sample different things, and not commit to buying anything long term. I know for myself, that there’s nothing more disappointing than purchasing a $40-50 product only to use it a few times and then toss it away or give it to someone else. Also, as a reminder, if you fall in love with a product, you can purchase it directly off of Bulu Box for a $3.99 shipping fee. This takes away the searching online for products when you can purchase it right from the source! This is an added bonus.
