Ahhh, I absolutely love coffee. It’s kind of funny, I have memories of me asking to drink my mom coffee since I was as young as 7 or 8 years old. Not because I thought I am cool enough to enjoy an adult type drink but,  because I love the smell and taste of all kinds of coffees. At this point I’m pretty sure if you were to cut me open, half of my blood would be coffee.

One thing that immediately piqued my interest about Camano Island Coffee Lovers Club was that there were different options of how often to receive coffee in a shipment, and also that they offer a subscription with K-Cups! I live off my Keurig, so I was excited to see that.

Camano Island Coffee is roasted and shipped within 48 hours of purchasing a shipment! That’s pretty impressive. The two different kinds of coffee we have in our box were from Brazil and from Papua New Guinea.

The Papua New Guinea Medium Roast Blend is the August coffee of the Month so I was very happy to see this in the box. This flavor is a huge hit for me.  Immediately upon opening the bag, the smell of pure heaven hit my sense. Again, I’m a huge coffee lover, so I might be a little bias on this topic but, in my opinion, the smell of fresh coffee is one of the best smells out there. The coffee from Brazil is just as lovely, don’t get me wrong as I have no complaints about either one. However, I do prefer the Paupa New Guinea flavor just a little bit more because I tend to shy away from dark roasts.

Indicated in the picture above, there are so many cool perks to this club.  Subscribers can save money with the 35% discount, not worry about cancellation fees, and pick and/or decide the coffee amount and the schedule for delivery.

All of their coffees are USDA Certified Organic, Shade-Grown, Top 1% Arabica Grade, and Fairly Traded. Some of that might not mean much to you if you’re not a coffee lover but, all of this is extremely incredible, and I wish more companies were like this.

The box also included this insert about the Gomez family. The family was able to save for years to purchase their own coffee farm and unfortunately, 80% of their crop became destroyed to coffee rust. I honestly can’t imagine how devastating that would be! Luckily Juan Gomez was able to find information about a beekeeping program started by Food 4 Farmers. After this, he received training for hives and equipment. Now the Gomez family has 14 functioning hives! I found this insert to be a great addition to the box. I love reading stories like this.

Overall Thoughts

I found this box to be a huge treat for a coffee lover like myself. Also, being a native PNWer, I always want to support local businesses so this was awesome that this company is our neighbors! I also love that this box can be customized in so many different ways. There are no hassles when it comes to this box, and that’s the way it should be when it comes to any kind of subscription.

I absolutely can picture myself purchasing a subscription from this company in the future not just because of the quality of the product but, their mission, and the story behind the company is incredible. What do you guys think? Do you like having flexibility when it comes to these types of clubs/subscriptions?
