The artwork on the FabFitFun boxes is always beautiful and really sets a tone for the whole box.  I was a little surprised that the background color is darker on this Spring box, however, I still admired the brilliant artwork!  I also like the magazine that is included in each box. It shows all the various products that are available for customization as well as the items that all subscribers will receive.  If you are new to FabFitFun, I want to point out that they allow annual subscribers to choose several items that be can to customized in their box.

Please note, we will only be reviewing the products that we received in our box.   Inside the magazine, there are all kinds of tips and tricks for using the items within the box.  I find that super helpful since a lot of the items were ones that I wasn’t familiar with.

I will start with the products that all subscribers will receive.

Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub – Retail Value $24

Body scrubs are one of my favorite items to receive in subscription boxes.  Bonus points for ones that smell divine.  The charcoal scrub from Manna Kadar not only smells marvelous but I did notice that it seemed to dry out my hands a little bit. I was also in awe at how big of a container was included in the FabFitFun box.  This scrub will last me at least a few months.  Ordinarily, I keep a scrub my by bathroom or kitchen sink and try to use it a few times a week to keep my hands nice and smooth.

OUAI Leave in Conditioner – Retail Value: $26

I’m not a huge fan of leave in conditioner.  I have pretty sensitive skin, so hair products tend to irritate my cheeks and forehead.  I went ahead and tested this product anyways and ended up loving it.  While it looks very thick in the bottle it sprays on like a mist.  My hair felt smooth and looked shiny without getting greasy as the day wore on.

dr. brandt skincare needles no more, No More Baggage – Retail Value $42

dr. Brandt has some amazing products so I’m always happy to get a chance to try one that is new to me.  As a mom, I always have dark circles under my eyes.  Who else can relate?  I tested this product over the course of two weeks while using it every morning under my makeup.  I did notice a difference with under my eyes looking a little more youthful.  One of the things I like about FabFitFun is trying products like this that I wouldn’t choose to buy for full price.

Moving on to the items that could be customized by select members.  These items were chosen by myself before the box shipped.

Unplug Meditation Aromatherapy Diffuser – Retail Value: $50

Everyone I know tells me that I really need to have a diffuser.  Personally, while I like to use essential oils in household cleaning solutions but other than that I am not in any way a professional at using oils.  I decided to pick this product to see what I was missing out on.  While unpacking the diffuser, I noticed that it is extremely lightweight, almost flimsy feeling.  After plugging it in I was surprised to see that there is an led light that changes colors (which can be turned off).  My son and I thought that was pretty cool looking.  In the end, the diffuser worked really well and we will continue to use it in our home.

Quay Vivienne Sunglasses in Black/Smoke – Retail Value: $60

Over the years I have accumulated many sunglasses.  Generally, I have a few pairs that I love while the others sit around in their case buried in my closet.  I was still excited to get this pair from Quay since they are a tad different than any of the other ones that I have.  They are really high quality and feel like they will hold up for some time.  I love the oversized design and can’t wait to get some sun in the PNW so I can wear these.

treStiQue Blush Stick – Retail Value $28

While I was picking my products for the FabFitFun Box, one of the choices again was a “mystery choice”. I had really good luck with my mystery choice last season, so I decided to try again for a great mystery item.  Although, I was a little bummed when it turned out to be a blush stick.  Since I don’t wear a lot of makeup and never wear blush so I didn’t even know where to start with this product.  This will make a good gift for someone, so I tucked it away in my gift closet for the time being.

Ciaté London Extraordinary Translucent Setting Powder – Retail Value $22

Since I’m not much of a makeup guru, I decided to gift this product to Noelle for review.  See her thoughts below:

I’m big on using setting powders because I’m unfortunately *blessed* with combination skin, so there are certain parts of my face where makeup slides off throughout the day and I end up looking really greasy. One of the major benefits of setting powders is that they can keep your makeup looking really fresh and can lock it into place. I felt that this product did a decent job at making my makeup look nice so I’m glad that Abby gave me the opportunity to try this out! I like that it was easy to brush away and also didn’t overcompensate and make my foundation look chalky. I’ll definitely continue using this in the future and I like that it’s not too expensive either. If I end up continuing to like it, I could definitely see myself purchasing it in the future.

TULA Purifying Face Cleanser – Retail Value: $28

Since I have sensitive skin I tend to stick to the cleansers that I know will not irritate my skin.  I’m always hesitant to try a new one, however for review purposes I did use this product.  My face felt fresh and smooth after using this cleanser, however, as expected I ended up breaking out pretty bad after using it for a few days.  I will go back to my normal routine and gift this to someone that doesn’t have as sensitive skin as I do.

Overall

This was the final box of my year-long FabFitFun subscription.  I am trying to decide if I want to continue with another year or move onto a new box.  While FabFitFun is one of my favorite boxes, this box wasn’t the best one that I have received from them.  There were only a few products that I  loved, and the other choices I had weren’t ones that interested me either.  That being said, the value of those products is still more than I paid for the quarterly subscription and the other items in the box are great to have on hand for gifts. For now, I think I will order the Summer 2019 box and see if it piques my interest again.  Tell us your thoughts on the Spring 2019 box in the comments below.
