Immediately, I found myself impressed by the bright packaging and thank you card.  I thought that was such a lovely touch!

Mellow Frenzy is a clothing and accessories subscription box for all those ladies that want the added luxury of having a personal stylist.  When you sign up you give them your Instagram handle so they can tailor each box to personal style.   From the website’s description:  “Lifestyle/Clothing subscription box, unlike the others!  No hassle & no styling fee.  Everything you receive, you keep.  We have various box sizes to fit your needs and wallet.”

Shipping: $3.05

Ships to: US

Mellow Frenzy offers several choices of boxes and plans that you can sign up for.  Ranging from a small box (4 items) to a VIP box (7 items, including shoes).  We decided to order the Large Box on a month to month plan which cost $34.95.  Described on the site as: “This box is perfect for those stylish girls that love surprises!  This subscription includes 5-6 Full-Size Clothing / Lifestyle Products  All items are YOURS.  No need to pay extra fees like most boxes, to keep the products.”  Something we would like to note is that this subscription does not come with an info sheet regarding product values. Therefore all of the value estimates are based on past purchase comparisons.

Riley + James Blouse – Army Green

Estimated Retail Value: $20-$35

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the color of the shirt.  Lately it has been a go-to color for me.  As I pulled it out I immediately liked the cut, as it is normally very flattering on my body.  It is a sheer and lightweight style which will make it a perfect top for spring and summer.  I also love that this is such a simple blouse, making it easy to dress up or down.  Needless to say, I am excited to have this shirt in my closet.

Essie Nail Polish – Fierce, No Fear

Estimated Retail Value: $4

This isn’t a color I would normally pick for myself.  But I have to say, I actually really like it.  Here it is painted on my nails. The application was easy and it dried in less than 5 minutes.  The consistency is close to a gel polish and that has helped it last 3 days with no chips so far.

Dark Blue Beaded Stretchy Bracelet (see above pic)

Estimated Retail Value: $5-10

The quality seems really nice on this bracelet.  The dark blue color will coordinate well with many pieces I already own.  The beading is on an elastic string making it an easy on and off piece to quickly slip on when you leave the house for the day!

Sparkle Stretchy Quote Bracelet

Retail Value: $5-$10

When I initially saw this bracelet, I was not terribly fond of it.  Upon trying it on, I found it cute, but unfortunately, it was still not my style.  I can’t picture myself wearing it.  I am also concerned about the quality of this piece since it looks to be tarnished and chipped in a few places.  This could possibly be the style of the bracelet but, again, not something I would choose for myself.

Urban Outfitters Locket

Retail Value: $24

When filling out my style profile I mentioned that I’m a working Mom.  I feel like this locket is the perfect thing to wear while I’m at work.  A cute little picture of my son in there is just what I need on the days I find it so hard to be away from him.  The necklace is fairly light and is a costume jewelry piece.  I also really like how the blue pops out.  This necklace is also great to dress up the blouse that came in the box.

Overall

Overall, I think the value of the box is in me not having to go shopping.  I am not a fan of the mall and would much rather spend the money on having a personal stylist send me an outfit each month.  Some of the pieces were ones I may not have selected for myself, but I appreciate how they complement and enhance one another.  Also, I want to mention that their customer service has been top notch.  I will always go with a company that stands behind their products.  The approximate retail value of these pieces is between $58-$83, so the $38 is incredibly reasonable, especially since you are getting a personal stylist.
