The bright purple of the Meraki Box contrasted beautifully with the white designs on the box.  I also like that they matched the tissue paper inside since that gave it a very cohesive feel.

All items were held nicely in place throughout transit thanks to the paper shreds.  The August boxes theme was Sustainability and the natural look of the brown paper shreds they choose fit that theme exceptionally well.

Now let’s dive into the products featured in the August 2019 Meraki Box.  There was no insert in our box, so please note that we are getting our information based on our own research of each product.  In the future, I think Meraki would be wise to add in some sort of insert to give subscribers some more details on each item.

Net Produce Bag, Oowl Studio – Retail Value: $13.60

I have been meaning to get one of these types of bags for about a year now.  It looks like the perfect bag to tuck in my purse for quick grocery store runs.  Being able to reduce my use of plastic bags makes me happy.  I will be using this a lot in the future.

Reusable Facial Rounds, Little Fox Sews Lots – Retail Value: $11.73

I never knew such a product existed so I’m super stoked to have recieved these reusable facial rounds!  I have been using these for everything from applying toner to removing makeup and they work wonders!  The cute design is perfect too.  This is a product that I think everyone needs!

Beeswax Food Wraps, Goldilocks – Retail Value: $23.00

This is another product that I’ve been meaning to add to my life.  I keep hearing great things about using beeswax wraps to store food and to even make DIY snack bags.  With my son starting school last month, I need all the reuseable options I can find.  I love the pattern on this set from Goldilocks Wraps.  After using the set for a week, I decided I will need to add more to our home.  They are such a great alternative to plastic wrap and single-use baggies.

Solid Shampoo, William Street Soap Company – Retail Value: $10.26

First and foremost, I was stoked to see that they used a tin container since that will make it easy to travel with and I can also reuse it after the shampoo is gone.  This shampoo is made for damaged hair, which is perfect for this time of year.  My hair always tends to get overly dry and damaged in the winter.  Needless to say, I was excited to see how this bar performed compared to my normal shampoo routine.  I am pleased to say that I loved it.  It smelled wonderful, lathered perfectly, and left my hair clean and silky smooth.  I think I need to get the conditioner bar to round out my collection now.

Overall

For being a box with only four items in it, I have to say…I was pretty blown away.  The September Sustainability theme was right up my alley and included products that I can easily add into my daily life and still know that I’m making a difference. I also really like that they include small Canadian companies, since supporting local is important to me as well. The price of the contents comes out a little bit above the price of the box.  However, shipping charges to the US are on the higher end of what some people are willing to pay.  That being said, most consumers understand that there is an added charge for shipping when they are purchasing items internationally.
