I have always wanted to be the type of person that could keep a house plant alive.  However, I stop short of actually buying a plant to test my skills on.  For whatever reason, getting started seemed daunting.  Which pot is best?  What soil should I buy?  Where will I place the plant for the perfect amount of sunlight?  Thanks to my ever high anxiety, these are the types of questions that race in my head and ultimately lead to me abandoning my dreams of being a Plant Mom.

But wait, there is a subscription box that will send everything I need to plant a NEW houseplant each month?  Right to my door?  Surely I can handle that!  And just like that The Plant Club was going to revive my dream of Plant Parenthood.  The Gold Dust Croton would be my first attempt at keeping a houseplant alive.  Would I succeed?  And why do I all of a sudden feel like a REAL adult?

Potting Experience

The Plant Club sent over everything I needed to keep my plant happy.  Within minutes of filming my unboxing video, I was able to get started on potting.  And the included potting instructions put my mind at ease.  After adding the included soil and topping it with the beautiful white pebbles, I was the proud new owner of a Gold Dust Croton.  I named her Sunny.  Not only is Sunny delightful but look at the gorgeous the pot is!  Now all I needed to do was follow the Care Instructions.

Fun Extras

Not only did I get an adorable new houseplant, but look at all the fun extras that came in my box.  I love the Stay On Point coaster, plus it serves as a reminder each morning to check on my new buddy.  The wooden tag and branded pencil were a cute touch to the box too.  However, since I only have one plant, I opted to save those for future plants….if I can keep this one alive.

Overall

I am thrilled with The Plant Club experience.  Everything from the careful packaging to the finished product far exceeded my expectations.  And the price is low enough that I could subscribe for a few more months and help build my collection as I get more comfortable with my new found hobby.  So far I have managed to keep Sunny alive and well for over two weeks, she even has some new leaves starting to grow!
