Every month I get super stoked when we receive this box. Not only are the snacks and items very thought out and curated well, but there’s also always a really great variety to what you receive. I haven’t been really doing hardcore dieting or following the Keto diet in a while but, I still try to limit my sugar intake and be conscious of what I’m eating.  Now that it’s the New Year, it’s time to start being healthy again.  These treats were much needed to get me back in the right headspace!

This month had a great theme for December – “Very Merry” which was perfect for the holiday season.

As you can see, this box has a nice selection of treats and each is a little different in their own way. I mean, who knew you could still eat candy while on a low carb diet?! I remember the early days of Atkin’s diet only having chalky and overly fake sugar treats. Gone are those days and thankfully Sleek Treat is curating all these products that get delivered right to your door.

Smart Sweets,  Sweet Fish – Retail Value: $3.25

High fiber, Low Carb, and No Artificial Sweeteners.

I’ve gotten to enjoy this product before in the past, and they’re for sure one of my favorite items. They look like real Swedish Fish candy and while they don’t taste like it, they are still really delicious! They are also a vegan item, so I think this is something you could enjoy if you follow that dietary plan and aren’t on low carb. Shockingly, I find myself liking these even more than normal candy because they are the perfect amount of sweetness. I have a bulk package of them coming to my doorstep as we speak, so I’m excited to enjoy more of this yummy goodness!

Nush Foods, Carrot Spice Cake – Retail Value $2.99

3 Net Carbs, 1 g Sugar, Certified Organic and Gluten-Free

I really wish I could get behind this product but, unfortunately, my taste buds aren’t agreeing. The smell of his product is really amazing but, I definitely feel like I can taste some of the artificial sugars right away. The consistency is also kind of “spongy” to me too which, is a turnoff. I know more than likely it’s one of those products I’m just not used to but, I still won’t be purchasing independently.

Quest Protein Cookie, Gingerbread – Retail Value $2.00

15 g of Protein, 4 net carbs, <1 g Sugar. Also Gluten, and Soy Free.

Sweeteners: Stevia and Erythritol

I have always been a fan of the Quest cookies, which shocks a lot of people since I’m not normally big on either protein bars or cookies.  However, Quest cookies are always very soft, chewy, and delicious.  Their gingerbread version was a limited edition so I was stoked to try it out.  I wasn’t let down either! This cookie tastes just like gingerbread that we all know and love.  I wish I could order a huge bulk box of these and I’m hoping they release them again next year.

HeyFrida, Dark Chocolate + Coconut + Collagen Energy Bar – Retail Value $5.00

Organic, Gluten, Dairy, Lactose & Grain Free, No Added Sugar

Sweetened with Stevia

I can’t say that I was a huge fan of this energy bar but, it did taste pretty good. The overall flavors meshed really well together and  I happen to like both dark chocolate and coconut so that was a win for me. I am not sure if I would purchase these in the future but, I always love trying new things and adding variety to my diet.

Academy of Treats, Sugar-Free Stocking Stuffers – Retail Value $5.00

Organic, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Sweetened with GMO-Free Xylitol

Candy sweetened with xylitol is delicious.  You do have to be careful with how much you consume since it can make your tummy upset if you overdo it, however, it is the best alternative to sugar.  These jewels were no exception to the rule. They were so tasty and super sweet for their little size.  I wasn’t a huge fan of the mint flavor, but the coconut and cherry were delicious.  I wouldn’t hesitate to order a huge bag of these candies.

SkinnyMeChocolate, Chocolate Truffles – Retail Value ~$4.00 (box contained 3 truffles)

Keto-Friendly & Suitable for Diabetic diets

Sweeteners: Erythritol & Stevia

I really enjoyed these truffles! They all had the same consistency of truffles I would expect in a ‘normal’ kind except there was zero guilt to them. With only 2.5 net carbs and zero sugar, I’m completely sold. The ones we received in the box were Sexy Strawberry Dark Chocolate, Velvety Mocha, & Sea Salt. My favorite was the strawberry which surprised me because normally I don’t like any kind of fruity flavors in my chocolate. They were super rich too, so just one hit the spot when I was having a sweets craving.

I can definitely see myself purchasing these again in the future. How fun would they be for Valentine’s Day or an anniversary? Hint hint.

Curly Girlz Candy, Hemp Brittle – Retail Value $5.79

Low Carb & Keto Friendly (Zero net carbs per serving!)

Sweeteners: IMO Syrup, Xylitol, Erythritol & Stevia

Oh my gosh was this brittle absolutely amazing! Seriously, RUN and go get this right now. I promise you, you’ll be addicted the second you try this, just like Sleek Treat mentions in the overview of this product. For only 130 calories per serving and no net carbs, this will for sure be a special treat for me in the future. The consistency is of real brittle and it did not taste like fake sugar at all to me. I wanted to try and save half of the bag (since there’s 2 per serving) for another night, but, I could not help myself and devoured the entire bag in one sitting. I don’t know how anyone can have any self-control when they are enjoying this product – it really is THAT good!

Overall Thoughts

Once again, we were very pleased with this month of Sleek Treat. I loved that they really nailed the theme this month, and the truffles were an amazing find. “Low carb truffles ” isn’t something I would have Googled for or even thought was possible to make and still taste amazing so I’m so glad that they were included in this month’s box. I’m also happy that I had this box just in time to get myself back on track for the New Year. It can be hard to eat healthy once the holidays are over but, Sleek Treat always has your back – especially for us Keto or Low Carbers!
